SPEAKER_01 11:59 - 12:00

Good afternoon, everybody, and welcome.

SPEAKER_01 12:01 - 12:03

I guess we don't have enough seats today.

SPEAKER_01 12:03 - 12:03

Wow.

SPEAKER_01 12:07 - 12:13

In the last quarter century, a sitting president of the United States has come to Davos only twice.

SPEAKER_01 12:15 - 12:17

Both times, it was Donald Trump.

SPEAKER_01 12:18 - 12:29

So when I asked to serve in this new role that I have, he was one of the first leaders I called and invited to return.

SPEAKER_01 12:31 - 12:39

I first met the president about 25 years ago, but I worked most closely with him during the early months of COVID.

SPEAKER_01 12:40 - 12:42

This was March 2020.

SPEAKER_01 12:43 - 12:44

Markets were under extreme stress.

SPEAKER_01 12:45 - 12:50

Some economists were warning we could be headed towards a second Great Depression.

SPEAKER_01 12:50 - 13:11

What stood out to me during the extraordinary period was a president's willingness to bring together people from governments, from business, across institutions, across perspective, to think differently, and importantly, to act decisively.

SPEAKER_01 13:13 - 13:21

That instinct to act, especially in pivotal moments, is one reason I think he values the World Economic Forum.

SPEAKER_01 13:21 - 13:45

It is a unique institution that brings together the largest combination of government officials, business leaders, technology leaders, civil society and NGO leaders, anywhere in the world for a genuine dialogue, and particularly, importantly, this year.

SPEAKER_01 13:45 - 14:00

Thankfully, this group is meeting under better economic circumstances than during the pandemic, but once again, we're forcing very serious different economic conditions around the world.

SPEAKER_01 14:00 - 14:15

One of the central challenges that is impacting me is how capitalism can benefit more, and how can we broaden our global economy for greater and greater participation.

SPEAKER_01 14:17 - 14:33

That is a question where the president has shown real leadership through investing in infrastructure, reducing barriers to growth, and initiatives like the Trump account, designed to give more Americans a direct stake in the growth of the U.S. economy.

SPEAKER_01 14:34 - 14:45

As he enters the second year of his second term, we are interested in hearing his plans for 2026 and beyond, and will no doubt create more and more conversations.

SPEAKER_01 14:45 - 15:07

And that's what the forum is about, a serious conversation in the spirit of dialogue, discussions where the world is headed, where are we going, and these discussions would be incomplete without the president of the United States, the most important leader in the world.

SPEAKER_01 15:08 - 15:18

We appreciate him here, so let me introduce and welcome back to Davos, the president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

SPEAKER_02 15:53 - 15:55

Well, thank you very much, Larry.

SPEAKER_02 15:55 - 16:12

It's great to be back in beautiful Davos, Switzerland, and to address so many respected business leaders, so many friends, few enemies, and all of the distinguished guests.

SPEAKER_02 16:12 - 16:13

It's a who's who, I will say that.

SPEAKER_02 16:15 - 16:21

I've come to this year's World Economic Forum with truly phenomenal news from America.

SPEAKER_02 16:22 - 16:40

Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of my inauguration, and today, after 12 months back in the White House, our economy is booming, growth is exploding, productivity is surging, investment is soaring, incomes are rising.

SPEAKER_02 16:42 - 17:00

Inflation has been defeated, our previously open and dangerous border is closed, and virtually impenetrable, and the United States is in the midst of the fastest and most dramatic economic turnaround in our country's history.

SPEAKER_02 17:01 - 17:13

Under the Biden administration, America was plagued by the nightmare of stagflation, meaning low growth, and high inflation, a recipe for misery, failure, and decline.

SPEAKER_02 17:13 - 17:34

But now, after just one year of my policies, we are witnessing the exact opposite, virtually no inflation, and extraordinarily high economic growth, growth like, I believe, you'll see very shortly, a country has never seen before, perhaps no country has ever seen before.

SPEAKER_02 17:34 - 17:50

Over the past three months, core inflation has been just 1.6%, meanwhile, fourth quarter growth is projected to be 5.4%, far greater than anybody other than myself and a few others had predicted.

SPEAKER_02 17:50 - 18:08

Since the election, the stock market has set 52 all-time high records, so that's in one year, 52 records, adding $9 trillion in value to retirement accounts, 401ks, and people's savings.

SPEAKER_02 18:08 - 18:30

People are doing very well, they're very happy with me, since my inauguration, we've lifted more than 1.2 million people off of food stamps, and after four years, in which Biden secured less than $1 trillion of new investment in our country, think of that $1 trillion, substantially less than that.

SPEAKER_02 18:30 - 18:41

In four years, we've secured commitments for a record-breaking $18 trillion, and we think when the final numbers come out, they'll be closer to $20 trillion of investment.

SPEAKER_02 18:41 - 18:45

That's never been done by any country at any time, not even close.

SPEAKER_02 18:46 - 18:52

Just over one year ago, under the radical-left Democrats, we were a dead country.

SPEAKER_02 18:52 - 18:57

Now we are the hottest country anywhere in the world.

SPEAKER_02 18:57 - 19:08

In fact, the United States economy is on pace to grow at double the rate that was projected by the IMF just last April.

SPEAKER_02 19:08 - 19:13

And with my growth and tariff policies, it should be much higher.

SPEAKER_02 19:13 - 19:15

I really believe we can be much higher than that.

SPEAKER_02 19:15 - 19:19

And this is all great news, and it's great for all nations.

SPEAKER_02 19:20 - 19:26

The USA is the economic engine on the planet, and when America booms, the entire world booms.

SPEAKER_02 19:26 - 19:27

It's been the history.

SPEAKER_02 19:28 - 19:29

When it goes bad, it goes bad.

SPEAKER_02 19:30 - 19:39

The whole, we all, you all follow us down, and you follow us up, and we're at a point that we've never, I don't believe we've ever been.

SPEAKER_02 19:39 - 19:40

I never thought we could do it this quickly.

SPEAKER_02 19:40 - 19:47

My biggest surprise is I thought it would take more than a year, maybe like a year and one month.

SPEAKER_02 19:47 - 19:51

But it's happened very quickly.

SPEAKER_02 19:51 - 20:13

This afternoon, I want to discuss how we have achieved this economic miracle, how we intend to raise living standards for our citizens to levels never seen before, and perhaps how you too and the places where you come from can do much better by following what we're doing, because certain places in Europe are not even recognizable, frankly, anymore.

SPEAKER_02 20:13 - 20:18

They're not recognizable, and we can argue about it, but there's no argument.

SPEAKER_02 20:19 - 20:21

Friends come back from different places.

SPEAKER_02 20:21 - 20:28

I don't want to insult anybody and say I don't recognize it, and that's not in a positive way.

SPEAKER_02 20:28 - 20:36

That's in a very negative way, and I love Europe, and I want to see Europe go good, but it's not heading in the right direction.

SPEAKER_02 20:36 - 20:52

In recent decades, it became conventional wisdom in Washington and European capitals that the only way to grow a modern Western economy was through ever-increasing government spending, unchecked mass migration, and endless foreign imports.

SPEAKER_02 20:53 - 21:11

The consensus was that so-called dirty jobs and heavy industries should be sent elsewhere, that affordable energy should be replaced by the Green New Scam, and that countries could be propped up by importing new and entirely different populations from faraway lands.

SPEAKER_02 21:11 - 21:25

This was the path that Sleepy Joe Biden administration and many other Western governments very foolishly followed, turning their backs on everything that makes nations rich and powerful and strong.

SPEAKER_02 21:25 - 21:29

And there's so much potential in so many nations.

SPEAKER_02 21:30 - 21:40

The result was record budget and trade deficits and a growing sovereign deficit, driven by the largest wave of mass migration in human history.

SPEAKER_02 21:40 - 21:42

We've never seen anything like it.

SPEAKER_02 21:43 - 21:50

Quite frankly, many parts of our world are being destroyed before our very eyes, and the leaders don't even understand what's happening.

SPEAKER_02 21:50 - 21:53

And the ones that do understand aren't doing anything about it.

SPEAKER_02 21:53 - 22:02

Virtually all of the so-called experts predicted my plans to end this failed model would trigger a global recession and runaway inflation.

SPEAKER_02 22:03 - 22:05

But we have proven them wrong.

SPEAKER_02 22:06 - 22:07

It's actually just the opposite.

SPEAKER_02 22:07 - 22:14

In one year, our agenda has produced a transformation like America has not seen in over 100 years.

SPEAKER_02 22:15 - 22:19

Instead of closing down energy plants, we're opening them up.

SPEAKER_02 22:19 - 22:26

Instead of building ineffective money-losing windmills, we're taking them down and not approving any.

SPEAKER_02 22:27 - 22:31

Instead of empowering bureaucrats, we're firing them.

SPEAKER_02 22:31 - 22:39

And they're going out and getting jobs in the private sector for two and three times what they were making in government.

SPEAKER_02 22:39 - 22:44

So they started off hating me when we fired them, and now they love me.

SPEAKER_02 22:45 - 22:55

Instead of raising taxes on domestic producers, we're lowering them and raising tariffs on foreign nations to pay for the damage that they've caused.

SPEAKER_02 22:56 - 23:08

In 12 months, we have removed over 270,000 bureaucrats from the federal payrolls, the largest single-year reduction in government employment since the end of World War II.

SPEAKER_02 23:09 - 23:14

Nobody thought that was coming, but we had no choice to make a country great.

SPEAKER_02 23:14 - 23:16

You can't have all federal jobs.

SPEAKER_02 23:16 - 23:26

We've cut federal spending by $100 billion and slashed the federal budget deficit by 27% in the single year.

SPEAKER_02 23:26 - 23:28

It's going to go down quite a bit more from that.

SPEAKER_02 23:29 - 23:33

Driving inflation way down from the record highs of the Biden administration.

SPEAKER_02 23:34 - 23:37

Every month, they went up and up and up.

SPEAKER_02 23:37 - 23:53

I promised to cut 10 old regulations for every single new regulation, but instead, I've cut actually till this point 129 regulations for every one new regulation approved.

SPEAKER_02 23:53 - 24:02

So every time they come in with a new regulation, we do at least 10, but so far it's averaging out to 129, if you can believe it.

SPEAKER_02 24:02 - 24:13

In July, we passed the largest tax cuts in American history, including no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security for our great seniors.

SPEAKER_02 24:14 - 24:18

We also provided 100% expensing.

SPEAKER_02 24:18 - 24:19

That's the one they like.

SPEAKER_02 24:19 - 24:27

And bonus depreciation for all new equipment and capital investments to help companies expand and shift production to America.

SPEAKER_02 24:28 - 24:32

They are so in love with that.

SPEAKER_02 24:32 - 24:33

They build a plant.

SPEAKER_02 24:33 - 24:42

They're able to deduct it immediately, the whole thing, rather than waiting 38 to 41 years in the old days.

SPEAKER_02 24:42 - 24:47

This is a miracle taking place.

SPEAKER_02 24:47 - 24:50

Nobody thought it would ever be done by any country, but it's done by us.

SPEAKER_02 24:50 - 24:58

It was what made my first term the most successful four-year term that we've ever had from a financial standpoint.

SPEAKER_02 24:59 - 25:00

And now we've upped it.

SPEAKER_02 25:00 - 25:03

This is a 10-year program, not a one-year program.

SPEAKER_02 25:03 - 25:06

But you're allowed to deduct everything in one year.

SPEAKER_02 25:07 - 25:09

It used to be 38 to 41 years.

SPEAKER_02 25:09 - 25:16

With tariffs, we've radically reduced our ballooning trade deficit, which was the largest in world history.

SPEAKER_02 25:16 - 25:19

We were losing more than $1 trillion every single year.

SPEAKER_02 25:19 - 25:21

And it was just wasted.

SPEAKER_02 25:21 - 25:23

It was going to waste.

SPEAKER_02 25:23 - 25:29

But in one year, I slashed our monthly trade deficit by a staggering 77%.

SPEAKER_02 25:30 - 25:36

And all of this with no inflation, something everyone said could not be done.

SPEAKER_02 25:36 - 25:41

There were a couple of brilliant people that actually thought I was doing the right thing.

SPEAKER_02 25:41 - 25:43

I thought I was doing the right thing.

SPEAKER_02 25:43 - 25:47

Now they all think I'm doing the right thing because they can't believe the numbers.

SPEAKER_02 25:47 - 25:52

American exports are now up by more than $150 billion.

SPEAKER_02 25:52 - 25:57

Domestic steel production is up by 300,000 tons a month.

SPEAKER_02 25:57 - 26:00

And it's doubling over the next four months.

SPEAKER_02 26:00 - 26:01

It's doubling and tripling.

SPEAKER_02 26:01 - 26:05

And we have steel plants being built all over the country.

SPEAKER_02 26:05 - 26:06

Nobody thought they'd see that.

SPEAKER_02 26:07 - 26:10

Factory construction is up by 41%.

SPEAKER_02 26:10 - 26:18

And that number is really going to skyrocket right now because that's during a process that they're putting in to get their approvals.

SPEAKER_02 26:18 - 26:21

And we've given very, very quick, fast approvals.

SPEAKER_02 26:22 - 26:28

In the process, we've made historic trade deals with partners covering 40% of all U.S. trade.

SPEAKER_02 26:29 - 26:32

Some of the greatest companies and countries in the world.

SPEAKER_02 26:32 - 26:34

We have countries as our partner, too.

SPEAKER_02 26:34 - 26:38

The European nations, Japan, South Korea.

SPEAKER_02 26:38 - 26:40

They're our partners.

SPEAKER_02 26:40 - 26:44

They've gone into massive deals with us, especially on oil and gas.

SPEAKER_02 26:44 - 26:52

And these agreements raise growth and cause stock markets to boom, not only in the U.S., but virtually every country that came to make a deal.

SPEAKER_02 26:52 - 26:59

Because, as you've learned, when the United States goes up, you follow.

SPEAKER_02 27:00 - 27:02

It's really become a staple.

SPEAKER_02 27:02 - 27:13

In America, I've stopped the nation-wrecking energy policies that drive up prices while sending jobs and factories to the world's worst polluters.

SPEAKER_02 27:14 - 27:16

They are indeed polluters.

SPEAKER_02 27:16 - 27:23

Under sleepy Joe Biden, new domestic oil and gas leases fell by 95%.

SPEAKER_02 27:23 - 27:24

Think of that.

SPEAKER_02 27:24 - 27:27

And they wonder, why was gasoline going up so fast?

SPEAKER_02 27:28 - 27:43

The gasoline actually topped $5 a gallon, and some places $7 a gallon, and more than 100 major power plants were violently shut down by incompetent people that had no idea what the hell they were doing.

SPEAKER_02 27:44 - 27:50

Under my leadership, U.S. natural gas production is at an all-time high, by far.

SPEAKER_02 27:51 - 27:57

U.S. oil production is up by 730,000 barrels a day.

SPEAKER_02 27:57 - 28:02

And last week, we picked up 50 million barrels from Venezuela alone.

SPEAKER_02 28:04 - 28:08

Venezuela has been an amazing place for so many years.

SPEAKER_02 28:08 - 28:10

But then they went bad with their policies.

SPEAKER_02 28:11 - 28:15

Twenty years ago, it was a great country, and now it's got problems.

SPEAKER_02 28:15 - 28:16

But we're helping them.

SPEAKER_02 28:17 - 28:25

And those 50 million barrels, we're going to be splitting up with them, and they'll be making more money.

SPEAKER_02 28:25 - 28:27

They've made it a long time.

SPEAKER_02 28:27 - 28:29

Venezuela is going to do fantastically well.

SPEAKER_02 28:29 - 28:33

We appreciate all of the cooperation we've been giving.

SPEAKER_02 28:34 - 28:36

We've been giving great cooperation.

SPEAKER_02 28:36 - 28:40

Once the attack ended, the attack ended, and they said, let's make a deal.

SPEAKER_02 28:41 - 28:43

More people should do that.

SPEAKER_02 28:44 - 28:50

But Venezuela is going to make more money in the next six months than they've made in the last 20 years.

SPEAKER_02 28:52 - 28:54

Every major oil company is coming in with us.

SPEAKER_02 28:54 - 28:55

It's amazing.

SPEAKER_02 28:55 - 28:57

It's a beautiful thing to see.

SPEAKER_02 28:57 - 29:02

The leadership of the country has been very good.

SPEAKER_02 29:02 - 29:04

They've been very, very smart.

SPEAKER_02 29:04 - 29:15

The price of gasoline is now below $2.50 a gallon in many states, $2.30 a gallon in most states.

SPEAKER_02 29:15 - 29:18

Then we'll soon be averaging less than $2 a gallon.

SPEAKER_02 29:19 - 29:25

In many places, it's already down even lower, $1.95 a gallon.

SPEAKER_02 29:25 - 29:30

Numerous states are at $1.99, numbers that nobody has heard for years.

SPEAKER_02 29:31 - 29:35

Actually, since my last administration, we got it down to around those numbers.

SPEAKER_02 29:36 - 29:42

I've signed an order directing an approval of many new nuclear reactors.

SPEAKER_02 29:42 - 29:45

We're going heavy into nuclear.

SPEAKER_02 29:45 - 29:48

I was not a big fan because I didn't like the risk, the danger.

SPEAKER_02 29:49 - 29:53

But the progress they've made with nuclear is unbelievable.

SPEAKER_02 29:53 - 29:56

And the safety progress they've made is incredible.

SPEAKER_02 29:57 - 30:00

We're very much into the world of nuclear energy.

SPEAKER_02 30:01 - 30:05

And we can have it now at good prices and very, very safe.

SPEAKER_02 30:05 - 30:09

And we're leading the world in AI by a lot.

SPEAKER_02 30:10 - 30:11

We're leading China by a lot.

SPEAKER_02 30:12 - 30:21

I think President Xi respects what we've done, in part because I've allowed these big companies building these massive buildings to build their own electric capacity.

SPEAKER_02 30:21 - 30:29

They're building their own power plants, which, when added up, is more than any country anywhere in the world is doing.

SPEAKER_02 30:29 - 30:34

I read recently an article in the Wall Street Journal that China is creating so much energy, and they are.

SPEAKER_02 30:34 - 30:35

I've got to hand it to them.

SPEAKER_02 30:36 - 30:40

But we're creating as much or more, and we're letting them do that.

SPEAKER_02 30:40 - 30:41

I'm very proud of it.

SPEAKER_02 30:41 - 30:43

It was my idea.

SPEAKER_02 30:43 - 30:45

I said, you can't create this much energy.

SPEAKER_02 30:45 - 30:51

We needed more than double the energy currently in the country just to take care of the AI plants.

SPEAKER_02 30:51 - 30:53

And I said, we can't do that.

SPEAKER_02 30:53 - 30:54

We have an old grid system.

SPEAKER_02 30:55 - 30:58

And I came up with the idea, you know, you people are brilliant.

SPEAKER_02 30:58 - 30:59

You have a lot of money.

SPEAKER_02 31:00 - 31:01

Let's see what you can do.

SPEAKER_02 31:01 - 31:05

You can build your own electric generating plants.

SPEAKER_02 31:05 - 31:06

And they looked at me.

SPEAKER_02 31:06 - 31:07

They didn't believe me.

SPEAKER_02 31:07 - 31:13

All of the names that are, I think, in the room right now, if you want to know the truth, they didn't believe it.

SPEAKER_02 31:13 - 31:15

And I said, no, no, you can't.

SPEAKER_02 31:15 - 31:17

They came back two weeks, and they didn't have the plant.

SPEAKER_02 31:17 - 31:19

They said, we thought you were kidding.

SPEAKER_02 31:19 - 31:23

I said, no, not only am I not kidding, you're going to have your approvals within two weeks.

SPEAKER_02 31:24 - 31:28

I always say nuclear will take three weeks.

SPEAKER_02 31:29 - 31:30

But most are not going that.

SPEAKER_02 31:30 - 31:32

They're going oil and gas.

SPEAKER_02 31:32 - 31:34

They're even going coal in some cases.

SPEAKER_02 31:35 - 31:43

Because of my landslide election victory, the United States avoided the catastrophic energy collapse, which befell every European nation.

SPEAKER_02 31:43 - 31:50

That pursued the Green News scam, perhaps the greatest hoax in history.

SPEAKER_02 31:50 - 31:55

The Green News scam, windmills all over the place, destroy your land, destroy your land.

SPEAKER_02 31:56 - 31:58

Every time that goes around, you lose $1,000.

SPEAKER_02 32:00 - 32:03

You're supposed to make money with energy, not lose money.

SPEAKER_02 32:04 - 32:11

Here in Europe, we've seen the fate that the radical left tried to impose on America.

SPEAKER_02 32:11 - 32:12

They tried very hard.

SPEAKER_02 32:13 - 32:18

Germany now generates 22% less electricity than it did in 2017.

SPEAKER_02 32:19 - 32:23

And it's not the current chancellor's fault.

SPEAKER_02 32:23 - 32:25

He's solving the problem.

SPEAKER_02 32:25 - 32:26

He's going to do a great job.

SPEAKER_02 32:27 - 32:30

But what they did before he got there, I guess that's why he got there.

SPEAKER_02 32:31 - 32:35

And electricity prices are 64% higher.

SPEAKER_02 32:36 - 32:43

The United Kingdom produces just one-third of the total energy from all sources that it did in 1999.

SPEAKER_02 32:43 - 32:53

Think of that, one-third, and they're sitting on top of the North Sea, one of the greatest reserves anywhere in the world, but they don't use it.

SPEAKER_02 32:53 - 33:00

And that's one reason why their energy has reached catastrophically low levels with equally high prices.

SPEAKER_02 33:01 - 33:02

High prices, very low levels.

SPEAKER_02 33:02 - 33:06

Think of that, one-third, and you're sitting on top of the North Sea.

SPEAKER_02 33:06 - 33:08

And they like to say, well, you know, that's depleted.

SPEAKER_02 33:09 - 33:09

It's not depleted.

SPEAKER_02 33:09 - 33:10

It's got 500 years.

SPEAKER_02 33:11 - 33:12

They haven't even found the oil.

SPEAKER_02 33:12 - 33:14

The North Sea is incredible.

SPEAKER_02 33:14 - 33:16

They don't let anybody drill.

SPEAKER_02 33:17 - 33:18

Environmentally, they don't let them drill.

SPEAKER_02 33:19 - 33:21

They make it impossible for the oil companies to go.

SPEAKER_02 33:21 - 33:25

They take 92% of the revenues.

SPEAKER_02 33:25 - 33:27

So the oil companies say, we can't do it.

SPEAKER_02 33:28 - 33:29

They came to see me.

SPEAKER_02 33:29 - 33:30

Is there anything you can do?

SPEAKER_02 33:31 - 33:32

I want Europe to do great.

SPEAKER_02 33:32 - 33:39

I want UK to do great, sitting on one of the greatest energy sources in the world, and they don't use it.

SPEAKER_02 33:40 - 33:47

In fact, their electricity prices have soared 139%.

SPEAKER_02 33:48 - 33:51

There are windmills all over Europe.

SPEAKER_02 33:51 - 33:56

There are windmills all over the place, and they are losers.

SPEAKER_02 33:57 - 34:06

One thing I've noticed is that the more windmills a country has, the more money that country loses, and the worse that country is doing.

SPEAKER_02 34:07 - 34:14

China makes almost all of the windmills, and yet I haven't been able to find any wind farms in China.

SPEAKER_02 34:14 - 34:15

Did you ever think of that?

SPEAKER_02 34:15 - 34:16

It's a good way of looking at it.

SPEAKER_02 34:16 - 34:17

They're smart.

SPEAKER_02 34:17 - 34:18

China's very smart.

SPEAKER_02 34:18 - 34:20

What they make of it, they sell them for a fortune.

SPEAKER_02 34:21 - 34:26

They sell them to the stupid people that buy them, but they don't use them themselves.

SPEAKER_02 34:26 - 34:31

They put up a couple of big wind farms, but they don't use them.

SPEAKER_02 34:32 - 34:35

They just put them up to show people what they could look like.

SPEAKER_02 34:35 - 34:35

They don't spin.

SPEAKER_02 34:35 - 34:36

They don't do anything.

SPEAKER_02 34:37 - 34:39

They use a thing called coal, mostly.

SPEAKER_02 34:42 - 34:43

China goes with the coal.

SPEAKER_02 34:43 - 34:45

They go with oil and gas.

SPEAKER_02 34:46 - 34:51

They're starting to look at nuclear a little bit, and they're doing just fine.

SPEAKER_02 34:51 - 34:58

They make a fortune selling the windmills, though, and I think really that's one that they wouldn't be surprised if it stopped.

SPEAKER_02 34:59 - 35:01

They are shocked that it continues to go.

SPEAKER_02 35:02 - 35:03

They're more very friendly with me.

SPEAKER_02 35:04 - 35:07

They're shocked that people continue to buy those damn things.

SPEAKER_02 35:07 - 35:08

They killed the birds.

SPEAKER_02 35:08 - 35:09

They ruined your landscapes.

SPEAKER_02 35:10 - 35:12

Other than that, I think they're fabulous, by the way.

SPEAKER_02 35:14 - 35:15

Stupid people buy them.

SPEAKER_02 35:15 - 35:35

The consequences of such destructive policies have been stark, including lower economic growth, lower standards of living, lower birth rates, more socially disruptive migration, more vulnerability to hostile foreign adversaries, and much, much smaller militaries.

SPEAKER_02 35:36 - 35:39

The United States cares greatly about the people of Europe.

SPEAKER_02 35:39 - 35:40

We really do.

SPEAKER_02 35:40 - 35:54

I mean, look, I am derived from Europe, Scotland and Germany, 100 percent Scotland, my mother, 100 percent German, my father.

SPEAKER_02 35:54 - 36:00

And we believe deeply in the bonds we share with Europe as a civilization.

SPEAKER_02 36:00 - 36:02

I want to see it do great.

SPEAKER_02 36:02 - 36:13

That's why issues like energy trade, immigration and economic growth must be central concerns to anyone who wants to see a strong and united West.

SPEAKER_02 36:13 - 36:22

Because Europe and those countries have to do their thing, they have to get out of the culture that they've created over the last 10 years.

SPEAKER_02 36:22 - 36:24

It's horrible what they're doing to themselves.

SPEAKER_02 36:24 - 36:25

They're destroying themselves.

SPEAKER_02 36:26 - 36:27

It's beautiful, beautiful places.

SPEAKER_02 36:28 - 36:31

We want strong allies, not seriously weakened ones.

SPEAKER_02 36:31 - 36:33

We want Europe to be strong.

SPEAKER_02 36:33 - 36:50

So, ultimately, these are matters of national security and perhaps no current issue makes the situation more clear than what's currently going on with Greenland.

SPEAKER_02 36:50 - 36:53

Would you like me to say a few words of Greenland?

SPEAKER_02 36:55 - 37:01

I was going to leave it out of the speech, but I thought I think I would have been reviewed very negatively.

SPEAKER_02 37:03 - 37:08

I have tremendous respect for both the people of Greenland and the people of Denmark.

SPEAKER_02 37:09 - 37:10

Tremendous respect.

SPEAKER_02 37:10 - 37:15

But every NATO ally has an obligation to be able to defend their own territory.

SPEAKER_02 37:16 - 37:25

And the fact is no nation or group of nations is in any position to be able to secure Greenland other than the United States.

SPEAKER_02 37:25 - 37:28

We're a great power, much greater than people even understand.

SPEAKER_02 37:28 - 37:31

I think they found that out two weeks ago in Venezuela.

SPEAKER_02 37:34 - 37:47

We saw this in World War II when Denmark fell to Germany after just six hours of fighting and was totally unable to defend either itself or Greenland.

SPEAKER_02 37:47 - 37:51

So, the United States was then compelled.

SPEAKER_02 37:51 - 37:51

We did it.

SPEAKER_02 37:52 - 38:00

We felt an obligation to do it, to send our own forces to hold the Greenland territory and hold it.

SPEAKER_02 38:00 - 38:02

We did at great cost and expense.

SPEAKER_02 38:02 - 38:05

They didn't have a chance of getting on it.

SPEAKER_02 38:05 - 38:06

And they tried.

SPEAKER_02 38:07 - 38:09

Denmark knows that.

SPEAKER_02 38:09 - 38:13

We literally set up bases on Greenland for Denmark.

SPEAKER_02 38:14 - 38:15

We fought for Denmark.

SPEAKER_02 38:15 - 38:17

We weren't fighting for anyone else.

SPEAKER_02 38:17 - 38:21

We were fighting to save it for Denmark.

SPEAKER_02 38:21 - 38:23

Big, beautiful piece of ice.

SPEAKER_02 38:24 - 38:24

It's hard to call it land.

SPEAKER_02 38:24 - 38:26

It's a big piece of ice.

SPEAKER_02 38:27 - 38:34

But we saved Greenland and successfully prevented our enemies from gaining a foothold in our hemisphere.

SPEAKER_02 38:34 - 38:36

So, we did it for ourselves also.

SPEAKER_02 38:37 - 38:42

And then after the war, which we won, we won it big without us.

SPEAKER_02 38:43 - 38:47

Right now, you'd all be speaking German and a little Japanese, perhaps.

SPEAKER_02 38:50 - 38:54

After the war, we gave Greenland back to Denmark.

SPEAKER_02 38:54 - 38:57

How stupid were we to do that?

SPEAKER_02 38:57 - 38:58

But we did it.

SPEAKER_02 38:59 - 39:00

But we gave it back.

SPEAKER_02 39:00 - 39:03

But how ungrateful are they now?

SPEAKER_02 39:04 - 39:18

So, now our country and the world face much greater risks than it did ever before because of missiles, because of nuclear, because of weapons of warfare that I can't even talk about.

SPEAKER_02 39:18 - 39:22

Two weeks ago, they saw weapons that nobody ever heard of.

SPEAKER_02 39:22 - 39:24

They weren't able to fire one shot at us.

SPEAKER_02 39:24 - 39:25

They said, what happened?

SPEAKER_02 39:25 - 39:27

Everything was discombobulated.

SPEAKER_02 39:28 - 39:30

They said, we've got them in our sights.

SPEAKER_02 39:30 - 39:31

Press the trigger.

SPEAKER_02 39:31 - 39:32

And nothing happened.

SPEAKER_02 39:33 - 39:37

No anti-aircraft missiles went up.

SPEAKER_02 39:38 - 39:43

There was one that went up about 30 feet and crashed down right next to the people that sent it.

SPEAKER_02 39:43 - 39:45

They said, what the hell is going on?

SPEAKER_02 39:47 - 39:51

Those defensive systems were made by Russia and by China.

SPEAKER_02 39:52 - 39:55

So, they're going to go back to the drawing boards, I guess.

SPEAKER_02 39:56 - 40:02

Greenland is a vast, almost entirely uninhabited and undeveloped territory.

SPEAKER_02 40:04 - 40:11

Sitting undefended in a key strategic location between the United States, Russia and China.

SPEAKER_02 40:11 - 40:14

That's exactly where it is, right smack in the middle.

SPEAKER_02 40:15 - 40:18

Wasn't important nearly when we gave it back.

SPEAKER_02 40:18 - 40:22

You know, when we gave it back, it wasn't the same as it is now.

SPEAKER_02 40:22 - 40:24

It's not important for any other reason, you know.

SPEAKER_02 40:24 - 40:26

Everyone talks about the minerals.

SPEAKER_02 40:26 - 40:27

There's so many places.

SPEAKER_02 40:27 - 40:28

There's no rare earth.

SPEAKER_02 40:29 - 40:30

No such thing as rare earth.

SPEAKER_02 40:31 - 40:32

There's rare processing.

SPEAKER_02 40:32 - 40:34

But there's so much rare earth.

SPEAKER_02 40:35 - 40:41

And just to get to this rare earth, you got to go through hundreds of feet of ice.

SPEAKER_02 40:42 - 40:43

That's not the reason we need it.

SPEAKER_02 40:43 - 40:50

We need it for strategic national security and international security.

SPEAKER_02 40:50 - 40:58

This enormous, unsecured island is actually part of North America, on the northern frontier of the Western Hemisphere.

SPEAKER_02 40:58 - 40:59

That's our territory.

SPEAKER_02 41:01 - 41:06

It is therefore a core national security interest of the United States of America.

SPEAKER_02 41:06 - 41:13

And, in fact, it's been our policy for hundreds of years to prevent outside threats from entering our hemisphere.

SPEAKER_02 41:13 - 41:15

And we've done it very successfully.

SPEAKER_02 41:15 - 41:17

We've never been stronger than we are now.

SPEAKER_02 41:18 - 41:24

That's why American presidents have sought to purchase Greenland for nearly two centuries.

SPEAKER_02 41:24 - 41:27

You know, for two centuries they've been trying to do it.

SPEAKER_02 41:27 - 41:31

They should have kept it after World War II, but they had a different president.

SPEAKER_02 41:31 - 41:32

That's all right.

SPEAKER_02 41:32 - 41:33

People think differently.

SPEAKER_02 41:34 - 41:38

Much more necessary now than it was at that time, however.

SPEAKER_02 41:39 - 41:46

In 2019, Denmark said that they would spend over $200 million to strengthen Greenland's defenses.

SPEAKER_02 41:47 - 41:50

But, as you know, they spent less than 1% of that amount.

SPEAKER_02 41:50 - 41:53

1% is no sign of Denmark there.

SPEAKER_02 41:54 - 42:00

And I say that with great respect for Denmark, whose people I love, whose leaders are very good.

SPEAKER_02 42:01 - 42:15

It's the United States alone that can protect this giant mass of land, this giant piece of ice, develop it and improve it and make it so that it's good for Europe and safe for Europe and good for us.

SPEAKER_02 42:15 - 42:23

And that's the reason I'm seeking immediate negotiations to once again discuss the acquisition of Greenland by the United States.

SPEAKER_02 42:23 - 42:30

Just as we have acquired many other territories throughout our history, as many of the European nations have.

SPEAKER_02 42:30 - 42:31

They've acquired it.

SPEAKER_02 42:31 - 42:32

There's nothing wrong with it.

SPEAKER_02 42:32 - 42:33

Many of them.

SPEAKER_02 42:33 - 42:36

Some went in reverse, actually, if you look.

SPEAKER_02 42:36 - 42:41

Some had great, vast wealth, great, vast lands all over the world.

SPEAKER_02 42:41 - 42:42

They went in reverse.

SPEAKER_02 42:43 - 42:45

They're stuck back where they started.

SPEAKER_02 42:45 - 42:46

But that happens, too.

SPEAKER_02 42:47 - 42:48

But some grow.

SPEAKER_02 42:49 - 42:52

But this would not be a threat to NATO.

SPEAKER_02 42:52 - 42:58

This would greatly enhance the security of the entire alliance, the NATO alliance.

SPEAKER_02 42:58 - 43:02

The United States is treated very unfairly by NATO.

SPEAKER_02 43:02 - 43:03

I want to tell you that.

SPEAKER_02 43:04 - 43:07

And when you think about it, nobody can dispute it.

SPEAKER_02 43:07 - 43:11

We give so much and we get so little in return.

SPEAKER_02 43:12 - 43:15

And I've been a critic of NATO for many years.

SPEAKER_02 43:16 - 43:21

And yet I've done more to help NATO than any other president by far, than any other person.

SPEAKER_02 43:21 - 43:26

You wouldn't have NATO if I didn't get involved in my first term.

SPEAKER_02 43:26 - 43:29

The war with Ukraine is an example.

SPEAKER_02 43:29 - 43:34

We are thousands of miles away, separated by a giant ocean.

SPEAKER_02 43:34 - 43:42

It's a war that should have never started, and it wouldn't have started if the 2020 U.S. presidential election weren't rigged.

SPEAKER_02 43:42 - 43:43

It was a rigged election.

SPEAKER_02 43:44 - 43:45

Everybody now knows that.

SPEAKER_02 43:45 - 43:45

They found out.

SPEAKER_02 43:47 - 43:49

People will soon be prosecuted for what they did.

SPEAKER_02 43:52 - 43:54

It's probably breaking news, but it should be.

SPEAKER_02 43:54 - 43:55

It was a rigged election.

SPEAKER_02 43:56 - 43:57

You can't have rigged elections.

SPEAKER_02 43:57 - 44:01

You need strong borders, strong elections, and ideally a good press.

SPEAKER_02 44:01 - 44:02

I always say it.

SPEAKER_02 44:02 - 44:06

Strong borders, strong elections, free, fair elections.

SPEAKER_02 44:07 - 44:08

And a fair media.

SPEAKER_02 44:08 - 44:09

The media is terrible.

SPEAKER_02 44:10 - 44:12

It's very crooked.

SPEAKER_02 44:12 - 44:13

It's very biased.

SPEAKER_02 44:13 - 44:13

Terrible.

SPEAKER_02 44:14 - 44:17

But someday it'll straighten out because it's losing all credibility.

SPEAKER_02 44:17 - 44:18

Think of it.

SPEAKER_02 44:18 - 44:24

When I went in a landslide, a giant landslide won all seven swing states, won the popular vote.

SPEAKER_02 44:24 - 44:25

It won everything.

SPEAKER_02 44:25 - 44:27

And I only get negative press.

SPEAKER_02 44:28 - 44:30

That means that it has no credibility.

SPEAKER_02 44:31 - 44:34

And if they're going to get credibility, they're going to have to be fair.

SPEAKER_02 44:34 - 44:35

So you need a fair press.

SPEAKER_02 44:35 - 44:39

But you also need those other elements.

SPEAKER_02 44:40 - 44:45

And I inherited a terrible, terrible situation.

SPEAKER_02 44:46 - 44:48

If you look, the border was open.

SPEAKER_02 44:48 - 44:50

The inflation was raging.

SPEAKER_02 44:50 - 44:53

Everything was bad with the United States when I came into office.

SPEAKER_02 44:54 - 44:58

But I also inherited a mess with Ukraine and Russia, something that would have never happened.

SPEAKER_02 44:58 - 44:59

And I know Putin very well.

SPEAKER_02 45:00 - 45:02

He and I would discuss Ukraine.

SPEAKER_02 45:02 - 45:03

It was the apple of his eye.

SPEAKER_02 45:03 - 45:05

But he wasn't going to do anything.

SPEAKER_02 45:05 - 45:07

I said, Vladimir, you're not doing it.

SPEAKER_02 45:07 - 45:08

He would never have done it.

SPEAKER_02 45:09 - 45:10

It was terrible what happened.

SPEAKER_02 45:10 - 45:12

And I could see it happening, too.

SPEAKER_02 45:12 - 45:13

After I left, I could see it happening.

SPEAKER_02 45:15 - 45:21

Biden had given Ukraine and NATO $350 billion, a staggering sum, $350 billion.

SPEAKER_02 45:22 - 45:35

I came in, and just like the southern border, just like inflation, just like our economy, I said, wow, this place is in trouble, meaning our country.

SPEAKER_02 45:35 - 45:38

All of these things were out of control.

SPEAKER_02 45:40 - 45:42

But the border was out of control.

SPEAKER_02 45:42 - 45:44

We fixed it with the strongest border anywhere in the world.

SPEAKER_02 45:45 - 45:53

And I've now been working on this war for one year, during which time I settled eight other wars, India, Pakistan.

SPEAKER_02 45:53 - 45:54

I've been.

SPEAKER_02 45:54 - 46:02

I settled other wars that were Vladimir Putin called me, Armenia, Abir, Bajan.

SPEAKER_02 46:02 - 46:05

He said, I can't believe you settled that one.

SPEAKER_02 46:05 - 46:06

They were going on for 35 years.

SPEAKER_02 46:06 - 46:08

I settled it in one day.

SPEAKER_02 46:09 - 46:11

And President Putin called me.

SPEAKER_02 46:12 - 46:17

He said, you know, I can't believe I've worked on that war for 10 years trying to settle it.

SPEAKER_02 46:17 - 46:17

I couldn't do it.

SPEAKER_02 46:17 - 46:18

I said, do me a favor.

SPEAKER_02 46:18 - 46:19

Focus on settling your war.

SPEAKER_02 46:19 - 46:20

Don't worry about that.

SPEAKER_02 46:20 - 46:35

What does the United States get out of all of this work, all of this money, other than death, destruction, and massive amounts of cash going to people who don't appreciate what we do?

SPEAKER_02 46:35 - 46:37

They don't appreciate what we do.

SPEAKER_02 46:38 - 46:40

Talking about NATO.

SPEAKER_02 46:40 - 46:41

I'm talking about Europe.

SPEAKER_02 46:43 - 46:46

They have to work on Ukraine.

SPEAKER_02 46:46 - 46:46

We don't.

SPEAKER_02 46:46 - 46:48

The United States is very far away.

SPEAKER_02 46:48 - 46:51

We have a big, beautiful ocean separating us.

SPEAKER_02 46:51 - 46:54

We have nothing to do with it until I came along.

SPEAKER_02 46:54 - 46:59

NATO was only supposed to pay 2% of GDP, but they weren't paying.

SPEAKER_02 46:59 - 47:01

Most of the countries weren't paying anything.

SPEAKER_02 47:02 - 47:06

The United States was paying for virtually 100% of NATO.

SPEAKER_02 47:08 - 47:09

And I got that stopped.

SPEAKER_02 47:09 - 47:10

I said, that's not fair.

SPEAKER_02 47:11 - 47:17

But then, more importantly, I got NATO to pay 5%, and now they were paying, and now they are paying.

SPEAKER_02 47:17 - 47:19

So something nobody said was possible.

SPEAKER_02 47:20 - 47:23

They said, we will never go up higher than 2%.

SPEAKER_02 47:24 - 47:26

But they went to 5%, and now they're paying the 5%.

SPEAKER_02 47:26 - 47:29

They didn't pay the 2%, and now they're paying the 5%.

SPEAKER_02 47:29 - 47:30

And they're stronger for it.

SPEAKER_02 47:31 - 47:35

And they have an excellent, by the way, Secretary General, who's possibly in the room.

SPEAKER_02 47:35 - 47:36

Mark, are you here?

SPEAKER_02 47:36 - 47:40

Yes, he's here.

SPEAKER_02 47:40 - 47:41

Hello, Mark.

SPEAKER_02 47:42 - 47:47

We never ask for anything, and we never get anything.

SPEAKER_02 47:47 - 47:54

We probably won't get anything unless I decide to use excessive strength and force, where we would be, frankly, unstoppable.

SPEAKER_02 47:56 - 47:58

But I won't do that.

SPEAKER_02 47:59 - 48:00

Okay?

SPEAKER_02 48:00 - 48:01

Now everyone's saying, oh, good.

SPEAKER_02 48:02 - 48:07

That's probably the biggest statement I made, because people thought I would use force.

SPEAKER_02 48:07 - 48:08

I don't have to use force.

SPEAKER_02 48:08 - 48:09

I don't want to use force.

SPEAKER_02 48:09 - 48:10

I won't use force.

SPEAKER_02 48:11 - 48:29

All the United States is asking for is a place called Greenland, where we already had it as a trustee, but respectfully returned it back to Denmark not long ago, after we defeated the Germans, the Japanese, the Italians, and others in World War II.

SPEAKER_02 48:29 - 48:30

We gave it back to them.

SPEAKER_02 48:30 - 48:35

We were a powerful force then, but we are a much more powerful force now.

SPEAKER_02 48:36 - 48:43

After I rebuilt the military in my first term and continue to do so today, we have a budget of $1.5 trillion.

SPEAKER_02 48:44 - 48:46

We're bringing back battleships.

SPEAKER_02 48:47 - 48:54

The battleship is 100 times more powerful than the great battleships you saw in World War II.

SPEAKER_02 48:54 - 49:04

Those great, big, gorgeous ships, the Missouri, the Iowa, the Alabama, because they thought maybe we could take them out of mothballs.

SPEAKER_02 49:04 - 49:21

They said, no, sir, these ships are 100, think of that, 100 times more powerful than those big, big, magnificent pieces of art that you saw so many times ago that you still see on television.

SPEAKER_02 49:21 - 49:30

And you say, wow, what a force, 100 times, each ship 100 times more powerful than the big battleships of the past.

SPEAKER_02 49:30 - 49:33

So that was the end of the mothball story.

SPEAKER_02 49:34 - 49:45

So what we have gotten out of NATO is nothing except to protect Europe from the Soviet Union and now Russia.

SPEAKER_02 49:45 - 49:47

I mean, we've helped them for so many years.

SPEAKER_02 49:47 - 49:50

We've never gotten anything except we pay for NATO.

SPEAKER_02 49:50 - 49:53

And we've paid for many years until I came along.

SPEAKER_02 49:53 - 49:58

We paid for, in my opinion, 100 percent of NATO because they weren't paying their bills.

SPEAKER_02 49:59 - 50:09

And all we're asking for is to get Greenland, including right title and ownership, because you need the ownership to defend it.

SPEAKER_02 50:09 - 50:11

You can't defend it on a lease.

SPEAKER_02 50:11 - 50:17

Number one, legally, it's not defensible that way, totally.

SPEAKER_02 50:17 - 50:34

And number two, psychologically, who the hell wants to defend a license agreement or a lease, which is a large piece of ice in the middle of the ocean where if there is a war, much of the action will take place on that piece of ice.

SPEAKER_02 50:34 - 50:39

Think of it, those missiles would be flying right over the center of that piece of ice.

SPEAKER_02 50:39 - 50:56

All we want from Denmark for national and international security and to keep our very energetic and dangerous potential enemies at bay is this land on which we're going to build the greatest golden dome ever built.

SPEAKER_02 50:56 - 51:04

We're building a golden dome that's going to just by its very nature, going to be defending Canada.

SPEAKER_02 51:06 - 51:08

Canada gets a lot of freebies from us, by the way.

SPEAKER_02 51:08 - 51:10

They should be grateful also, but they're not.

SPEAKER_02 51:10 - 51:13

I watched your prime minister yesterday.

SPEAKER_02 51:13 - 51:16

He wasn't so grateful that they should be grateful to us.

SPEAKER_02 51:17 - 51:20

Canada, Canada lives because of the United States.

SPEAKER_02 51:20 - 51:23

Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements.

SPEAKER_02 51:25 - 51:33

What we did for Israel was amazing, but that's nothing compared to what we have planned for the United States, Canada and the rest of the world.

SPEAKER_02 51:33 - 51:37

We are going to build a dome like no other.

SPEAKER_02 51:37 - 51:37

We did it.

SPEAKER_02 51:38 - 51:39

We did it for Israel.

SPEAKER_02 51:39 - 51:42

And by the way, I told Bibi, Bibi, stop taking credit for the dome.

SPEAKER_02 51:43 - 51:45

That's our technology.

SPEAKER_02 51:45 - 51:46

That's our stuff.

SPEAKER_02 51:46 - 51:50

But they had a lot of courage and they were good fighters and they did a good job.

SPEAKER_02 51:50 - 51:54

And we wiped out the Iran nuclear threat like nobody can believe.

SPEAKER_02 51:55 - 51:56

Nobody's ever seen anything like it.

SPEAKER_02 51:57 - 52:06

That Venezuela taking down Soleimani, wiping out al-Baghdadi when he tried to reinstitute ISIS.

SPEAKER_02 52:07 - 52:08

We did a lot.

SPEAKER_02 52:08 - 52:12

I did a lot, a lot of big things, all perfectly executed.

SPEAKER_02 52:12 - 52:14

Everyone was perfectly executed.

SPEAKER_02 52:14 - 52:20

If somebody told me that, a military expert told me, sir, everything you've done has been perfectly executed.

SPEAKER_02 52:20 - 52:21

I said, I know.

SPEAKER_02 52:22 - 52:31

So other presidents have spent, whether foolishly or not, trillions and trillions of dollars on NATO and gotten absolutely nothing in return.

SPEAKER_02 52:31 - 52:32

We've never asked for anything.

SPEAKER_02 52:33 - 52:34

It's always a one-way street.

SPEAKER_02 52:35 - 52:37

Now they want us to help them with Ukraine.

SPEAKER_02 52:37 - 52:39

And we say, we're going to.

SPEAKER_02 52:39 - 52:41

I'm really helping, not even them.

SPEAKER_02 52:41 - 52:46

I want to see, last week, if you saw, it was 10,000 soldiers.

SPEAKER_02 52:46 - 52:50

But last month it was 31,000 soldiers died.

SPEAKER_02 52:51 - 52:52

31,000.

SPEAKER_02 52:52 - 52:57

That's this room times, the number of people in this room times 30.

SPEAKER_02 52:58 - 52:59

Think of it.

SPEAKER_02 53:00 - 53:04

30,000 soldiers died in one month.

SPEAKER_02 53:04 - 53:06

The month before it was 27,000.

SPEAKER_02 53:06 - 53:08

The month before that it was 28,000.

SPEAKER_02 53:08 - 53:10

The month before that it was 25,000.

SPEAKER_02 53:10 - 53:13

It's a bloodbath over there.

SPEAKER_02 53:14 - 53:16

And that's what I want to stop.

SPEAKER_02 53:16 - 53:18

It doesn't help the United States.

SPEAKER_02 53:19 - 53:20

But these are souls.

SPEAKER_02 53:20 - 53:24

These are young, young people.

SPEAKER_02 53:24 - 53:25

Look like you.

SPEAKER_02 53:25 - 53:27

Look like some of you right in the front row.

SPEAKER_02 53:28 - 53:29

They go to war.

SPEAKER_02 53:29 - 53:30

Their parents are so proud.

SPEAKER_02 53:30 - 53:31

Oh, there he goes.

SPEAKER_02 53:31 - 53:32

Comes back.

SPEAKER_02 53:32 - 53:34

Two weeks later, they're going to call.

SPEAKER_02 53:34 - 53:35

Your son's head's been blown off.

SPEAKER_02 53:36 - 53:37

I want to stop it.

SPEAKER_02 53:38 - 53:39

It's a horrible war.

SPEAKER_02 53:40 - 53:41

It's the worst since World War II.

SPEAKER_02 53:42 - 53:43

They keep going.

SPEAKER_02 53:43 - 53:45

They'll exceed World War II.

SPEAKER_02 53:45 - 53:47

The numbers are staggering how many people they've lost.

SPEAKER_02 53:47 - 53:48

They don't want to talk about it.

SPEAKER_02 53:49 - 53:52

Ukraine and Russia lost just tremendous amounts.

SPEAKER_02 53:53 - 53:58

And I'm dealing with President Putin, and he wants to make a deal, I believe.

SPEAKER_02 53:58 - 54:02

I'm dealing with President Zelensky, and I think he wants to make a deal.

SPEAKER_02 54:02 - 54:03

I'm meeting him today.

SPEAKER_02 54:03 - 54:05

He might be in the audience right now.

SPEAKER_02 54:07 - 54:13

But they've got to get that war stopped, because too many people are dying, needlessly dying.

SPEAKER_02 54:14 - 54:15

Too many souls are being lost.

SPEAKER_02 54:16 - 54:18

It's the only reason I'm interested in doing it.

SPEAKER_02 54:19 - 54:21

But in doing it, I'm helping Europe.

SPEAKER_02 54:21 - 54:22

I'm helping NATO.

SPEAKER_02 54:22 - 54:27

Until the last few days, when I told them about Iceland, they loved me.

SPEAKER_02 54:29 - 54:31

They called me daddy, right, last time.

SPEAKER_02 54:32 - 54:34

A very smart man said, he's our daddy.

SPEAKER_02 54:35 - 54:36

He's running it.

SPEAKER_02 54:36 - 54:37

I was like running it.

SPEAKER_02 54:37 - 54:39

I went from running it to being a terrible human being.

SPEAKER_02 54:41 - 54:53

But now what I'm asking for is a piece of ice, cold and poorly located, that can play a vital role in world peace and world protection.

SPEAKER_02 54:54 - 55:02

It's a very small ask compared to what we have given them for many, many decades.

SPEAKER_02 55:03 - 55:08

But the problem with NATO is that we'll be there for them 100 percent.

SPEAKER_02 55:09 - 55:15

But I'm not sure that they'd be there for us if we gave them the call.

SPEAKER_02 55:16 - 55:18

Gentlemen, we are being attacked.

SPEAKER_02 55:19 - 55:21

We're under attack by such and such a nation.

SPEAKER_02 55:22 - 55:23

I know them all very well.

SPEAKER_02 55:23 - 55:25

I'm not sure that they'd be there.

SPEAKER_02 55:25 - 55:26

I know we'd be there for them.

SPEAKER_02 55:27 - 55:28

I don't know that they'd be there for us.

SPEAKER_02 55:28 - 55:36

So with all of the money we expend, with all of the blood, sweat and tears, I don't know that they'd be there for us.

SPEAKER_02 55:36 - 55:38

They're not there for us on Iceland.

SPEAKER_02 55:39 - 55:40

That I can tell you.

SPEAKER_02 55:40 - 55:44

I mean, our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland.

SPEAKER_02 55:44 - 55:47

So Iceland's already cost us a lot of money.

SPEAKER_02 55:47 - 55:50

But that dip is peanuts compared to what it's gone up.

SPEAKER_02 55:51 - 55:53

And we have an unbelievable future in that stock.

SPEAKER_02 55:54 - 55:55

That stock market is going to be doubled.

SPEAKER_02 55:56 - 56:05

We're going to hit 50,000 and that stock market's going to double in a relatively short period of time because of everything that's happening.

SPEAKER_02 56:05 - 56:07

But this is a good example.

SPEAKER_02 56:07 - 56:15

After giving NATO and European nations trillions and trillions of dollars in defense, they buy our weapons.

SPEAKER_02 56:15 - 56:19

We make the greatest weapons in the world, but now we're going to make them faster, much faster.

SPEAKER_02 56:19 - 56:20

You saw that.

SPEAKER_02 56:20 - 56:22

I put a cap on the salaries.

SPEAKER_02 56:23 - 56:30

Then I put no buybacks, no stock buybacks, no various other things that they were doing.

SPEAKER_02 56:31 - 56:36

I mean, they were making $50 million, but it would take them three years to give you a Patriot missile.

SPEAKER_02 56:37 - 56:38

I said, that's not good.

SPEAKER_02 56:38 - 56:40

My chauffeur can do a better job than that.

SPEAKER_02 56:41 - 56:43

And he makes slightly less than 50.

SPEAKER_02 56:44 - 56:45

They make big salaries.

SPEAKER_02 56:45 - 56:48

If they're going to make those big salaries, they're going to have to produce a lot faster.

SPEAKER_02 56:48 - 56:51

The good news is we have the greatest equipment in the world.

SPEAKER_02 56:51 - 56:52

Now we're going to start making it a lot faster.

SPEAKER_02 56:52 - 56:54

They're going to build additional plants.

SPEAKER_02 56:55 - 57:00

And all of the money that goes into stock buybacks is going to go into building plants.

SPEAKER_02 57:00 - 57:03

We're not allowing stock buybacks by defense companies any longer.

SPEAKER_02 57:03 - 57:07

They're going to build new plants to make Tomahawks, Patriots.

SPEAKER_02 57:08 - 57:14

We have the best equipment, F-35s, F-47, the new one just coming out.

SPEAKER_02 57:14 - 57:17

They say it's the most devastating plane, fighter jet ever.

SPEAKER_02 57:17 - 57:17

Who knows?

SPEAKER_02 57:17 - 57:18

They called it 47.

SPEAKER_02 57:19 - 57:22

If I don't like it, I'm going to take the 47 off it.

SPEAKER_02 57:22 - 57:23

I wonder why they called it 47.

SPEAKER_02 57:24 - 57:25

We'll have to think about that.

SPEAKER_02 57:26 - 57:29

But if I don't like it, I'm going to take that 47 off.

SPEAKER_02 57:30 - 57:32

But it's supposed to be the stage six.

SPEAKER_02 57:32 - 57:38

It's supposed to be the first stage six plane, undetectable, like our B-2 bombers were undetectable.

SPEAKER_02 57:38 - 57:39

They flew right over Iran.

SPEAKER_02 57:40 - 57:41

They were undetectable.

SPEAKER_02 57:41 - 57:44

And they did their job and they got the hell out of there.

SPEAKER_02 57:46 - 57:51

So we want a piece of ice for world protection and they won't give it.

SPEAKER_02 57:52 - 57:54

We've never asked for anything else.

SPEAKER_02 57:54 - 57:59

And we could have kept that piece of land and we didn't.

SPEAKER_02 57:59 - 58:02

So they have a choice.

SPEAKER_02 58:02 - 58:06

You can say yes and we will be very appreciative.

SPEAKER_02 58:06 - 58:10

Or you can say no and we will remember.

SPEAKER_02 58:13 - 58:17

A strong and secure America means a strong NATO.

SPEAKER_02 58:17 - 58:23

And that's one reason why I'm working every day to ensure our military is very powerful.

SPEAKER_02 58:23 - 58:24

Our borders are very strong.

SPEAKER_02 58:25 - 58:32

And above all, our economy is strong because national security requires economic security and economic prosperity.

SPEAKER_02 58:32 - 58:34

And we have the greatest that we've ever had.

SPEAKER_02 58:35 - 58:42

Biden and his allies destroyed our economy and gave us perhaps the worst inflation in American history.

SPEAKER_02 58:42 - 58:43

They say 48 years.

SPEAKER_02 58:44 - 58:45

I say forever.

SPEAKER_02 58:45 - 58:48

But I think 48 years is the equivalent to forever.

SPEAKER_02 58:49 - 58:55

Whether it's 48 years or ever, it's terrible.

SPEAKER_02 58:55 - 58:58

Costing the typical family $33,000.

SPEAKER_02 58:59 - 59:02

What they did to this country should never, ever be forgotten.

SPEAKER_02 59:02 - 59:05

It's early.

SPEAKER_02 59:06 - 59:10

But he has to be rated as the worst president we've ever had by far.

SPEAKER_02 59:11 - 59:14

The auto pen did many of the, much of the damage.

SPEAKER_02 59:15 - 59:17

The auto pen, he was the auto pen president.

SPEAKER_02 59:18 - 59:22

Because I don't believe a sane president would have ever signed the kind of things that he signed.

SPEAKER_02 59:23 - 59:32

But now grocery prices, energy prices, airfares, mortgage rates, rent and car payments are all coming down and they're coming down fast.

SPEAKER_02 59:32 - 59:33

We inherited a mess.

SPEAKER_02 59:33 - 59:38

But we've done a hell of a job in 12 months.

SPEAKER_02 59:38 - 59:49

Under my most favored nation policy for drug prices, the cost of prescription drugs is coming down by up to 90 percent, depending on the way you calculate.

SPEAKER_02 59:49 - 59:51

You could also say five, six, seven, eight hundred percent.

SPEAKER_02 59:52 - 59:53

There are two ways of figuring that.

SPEAKER_02 59:55 - 01:00:01

But we have the favored nations policy that every president wanted.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:01 - 01:00:02

No president was able to get.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:02 - 01:00:03

I got it.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:03 - 01:00:04

And other nations approved it.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:04 - 01:00:08

And I had to use tariffs in order to get it because they said, no way.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:08 - 01:00:15

In other words, a pill that costs 10 percent in London costs one hundred and thirty dollars.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:16 - 01:00:17

Think it costs ten dollars.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:18 - 01:00:24

In London costs one hundred and thirty dollars in New York or in Los Angeles.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:25 - 01:00:26

And I'd say, boy, that's bad.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:27 - 01:00:31

Friends of mine would say, you know, we go to London, you can buy the stuff for nothing.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:31 - 01:00:32

We go all over the world.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:32 - 01:00:41

We go buy it for nothing because basically America was subsidizing every nation in the world because presidents allowed them to get away with it.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:41 - 01:00:42

It became very tough.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:42 - 01:00:48

So when I called up Emmanuel Macron, I watched him yesterday with those beautiful sunglasses.

SPEAKER_02 01:00:50 - 01:00:52

What the hell happened?

SPEAKER_02 01:00:57 - 01:00:59

I watched him sort of.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:00 - 01:01:01

Be tough.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:02 - 01:01:04

But he was at ten dollars for a pill.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:05 - 01:01:12

Emmanuel and I said, Emmanuel, and I have the all the big pharmaceutical companies are in total agreement.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:12 - 01:01:13

It wasn't easy, by the way.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:13 - 01:01:14

They're tough, smart.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:14 - 01:01:17

They've been getting away with the scam for a long time.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:17 - 01:01:19

But they gave it up.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:19 - 01:01:22

But they said, you'll never get the countries to approve it.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:22 - 01:01:23

I said, why is that?

SPEAKER_02 01:01:23 - 01:01:24

Because they won't.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:24 - 01:01:26

They always said, we're not paying any more.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:26 - 01:01:27

Get the rest for the United States.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:27 - 01:01:29

So over the years, they stayed the same.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:29 - 01:01:30

We just went up, up, up.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:31 - 01:01:36

And I mean, we would pay 13, 14, 15 times more than some certain countries would.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:36 - 01:01:39

So I said, no, they'll approve it 100 percent.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:39 - 01:01:41

So you'll never get them to approve it.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:41 - 01:01:41

I said, I guarantee you.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:41 - 01:01:45

But I actually started with Emmanuel, who probably is in the room, too.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:45 - 01:01:46

And I like him.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:46 - 01:01:47

I actually like him.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:47 - 01:01:48

Hard to believe, isn't it?

SPEAKER_02 01:01:49 - 01:01:58

And I said, Emmanuel, you're going to have to lift the price of that pill to $20, maybe $30.

SPEAKER_02 01:01:59 - 01:01:59

Think of that.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:00 - 01:02:01

That means it's a doubling.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:03 - 01:02:06

A doubling of prescription drugs.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:06 - 01:02:07

Might be a tripling.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:07 - 01:02:08

Might be a quadrupling.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:09 - 01:02:10

It's not easy.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:10 - 01:02:11

No, no, no, Donald.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:11 - 01:02:12

I will not do that.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:13 - 01:02:15

I said, yes, you will 100 percent.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:16 - 01:02:17

He said, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:18 - 01:02:20

You're asking me to double.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:20 - 01:02:26

I said, Emmanuel, you've been taking advantage of the United States for 30 years with prescription drugs.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:27 - 01:02:28

You really should do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:29 - 01:02:30

And you will do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:30 - 01:02:31

I have no doubt.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:31 - 01:02:34

In fact, I am 100 percent sure you're going to.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:34 - 01:02:34

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:34 - 01:02:35

I will not do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:35 - 01:02:39

Because, yes, in all fairness, he has to double or triple.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:39 - 01:02:44

Because the world being a bigger place in the United States, it's not that you meet in the middle.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:44 - 01:02:45

You just have to go up some.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:46 - 01:02:47

And we come down a lot.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:47 - 01:02:48

They go up a little.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:48 - 01:02:49

We come down a lot.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:49 - 01:02:51

So we're at $130.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:51 - 01:02:52

They're at $10.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:52 - 01:02:54

So they may have to go to $20 or $30.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:55 - 01:02:56

No more than that.

SPEAKER_02 01:02:57 - 01:02:59

I said, Emmanuel, you're going to be doubling or tripling.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:00 - 01:03:01

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:01 - 01:03:02

I said, here's the story, Emmanuel.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:03 - 01:03:04

The answer is you're going to do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:04 - 01:03:05

You're going to do it fast.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:05 - 01:03:14

And if you don't, I'm putting a 25 percent tariff on everything that you sell into the United States and a 100 percent tariff on your wines and champagnes.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:15 - 01:03:18

And that's about 10 times more than what I'm requesting.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:19 - 01:03:20

And you're going to do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:20 - 01:03:24

I said, I don't want to go public with it, but you may make me do that.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:24 - 01:03:25

No, no, Donald, I will do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:26 - 01:03:27

I will do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:29 - 01:03:35

It took me, on average, three minutes, a country, saying the same thing.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:35 - 01:03:35

You will do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:36 - 01:03:37

They all said, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:37 - 01:03:38

I will not do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:39 - 01:03:41

You're asking me to double the cost of prescription.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:42 - 01:03:48

I said, that's right, because you've been screwing us for 30 years.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:50 - 01:03:52

And they said, we will not do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:52 - 01:03:53

I said, that's all right.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:54 - 01:03:58

On Monday morning, we're putting a 25, 30, 50.

SPEAKER_02 01:03:58 - 01:04:02

I gave different numbers for different countries.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:03 - 01:04:05

This is also national security we're talking about.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:06 - 01:04:06

Can't not fail.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:06 - 01:04:08

We're not going to subsidize the whole world.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:09 - 01:04:12

And every one of those countries have agreed to do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:13 - 01:04:18

So one of the biggest things that I've done is the fact that we have now most favored nations.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:18 - 01:04:22

We will pay whatever the lowest price is in the entire world.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:23 - 01:04:27

So our drug prices are going to be coming down by staggering 90%.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:28 - 01:04:31

Again, you could say 1,000%, 2,000%.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:32 - 01:04:33

Depends on the way you want to figure it.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:33 - 01:04:40

But we'll go with the way the fake news likes it better because it sounds, can you imagine, a 90% reduction sounds much worse.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:41 - 01:04:46

But drug prices are going to be coming down tremendously in all the nations.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:46 - 01:04:47

And I appreciate them doing it.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:47 - 01:04:48

But they did it.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:48 - 01:04:52

In all fairness, without tariffs, I wouldn't have been able to get it done.

SPEAKER_02 01:04:52 - 01:05:06

After declining $3,000 under Biden, real incomes are up in the United States by 2,000, 3,000, and even $5,000 and more.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:08 - 01:05:13

Homeownership has always been a symbol of health and vigor of American society.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:13 - 01:05:21

But that goal fell out of reach for millions and millions of people in the Biden era because interest rates went up so high.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:22 - 01:05:27

Today, I'm taking action to bring back this bedrock of the American dream.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:27 - 01:05:33

In recent years, Wall Street giants and institutional investment firms, many of you are here.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:33 - 01:05:34

Many of you are good friends of mine.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:34 - 01:05:35

Many of you are supporters.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:36 - 01:05:37

Sorry to do this.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:37 - 01:05:38

I'm so sorry.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:38 - 01:05:44

But you've driven up housing prices by purchasing hundreds of thousands of single-family homes.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:44 - 01:05:50

And it's been a great investment for them, often as much as 10% of houses on the market.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:51 - 01:05:54

You know, the crazy thing is a person can't get depreciation on a house.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:55 - 01:05:57

But when a corporation buys it, they get depreciation.

SPEAKER_02 01:05:58 - 01:05:59

Okay, that's something we're going to have to think about, too.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:00 - 01:06:02

I don't know if too many people think about that.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:02 - 01:06:06

You buy a corporation, they buy 500 houses.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:06 - 01:06:08

They buy hundreds of thousands.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:08 - 01:06:09

They buy 500 houses.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:09 - 01:06:10

They can take depreciation.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:10 - 01:06:15

A person sweats and works and buys one house they can't.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:16 - 01:06:19

But homes are built for people, not for corporations.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:19 - 01:06:23

And America will not become a nation of renters.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:23 - 01:06:24

We're not going to do that.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:24 - 01:06:31

That's why I have signed an executive order banning large institutional investors from buying single-family homes.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:31 - 01:06:32

It's just not fair to the public.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:32 - 01:06:36

They're not able to buy a house.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:37 - 01:06:41

And I'm calling on Congress to pass that ban into permanent law, and I think they will.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:41 - 01:06:48

One of the biggest barriers to saving for a down payment has been surging credit card debt.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:48 - 01:06:53

The profit margin for credit card companies now exceeds 50 percent, one of the biggest.

SPEAKER_02 01:06:53 - 01:07:01

And they charge America's interest rates of 28 percent, 30 percent, 31 percent, 32 percent.

SPEAKER_02 01:07:02 - 01:07:03

What have happened to usury?

SPEAKER_02 01:07:03 - 01:07:21

So to help our citizens recover from the Biden disaster, all caused by this horrible, just horrible precedent, I'm asking Congress to cap credit card interest rates at 10 percent for one year.

SPEAKER_02 01:07:23 - 01:07:27

And this will help millions of Americans save for a home.

SPEAKER_02 01:07:27 - 01:07:29

They have no idea they're paying 28 percent.

SPEAKER_02 01:07:29 - 01:07:33

They go out there a little late in their payment, and they end up losing their house.

SPEAKER_02 01:07:34 - 01:07:35

It's terrible.

SPEAKER_02 01:07:35 - 01:07:43

To unleash innovation and savings and financing, I'm also working to ensure America remains the crypto capital of the world.

SPEAKER_02 01:07:44 - 01:07:48

And to that end, last year, I signed the Landmark Genius Act into law.

SPEAKER_02 01:07:48 - 01:08:02

Now Congress is working very hard on crypto market structure legislation, Bitcoin, all of them, which I hope to sign very soon, unlocking new pathways for Americans to reach financial freedom.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:02 - 01:08:06

And I did it for two reasons. Number one, I thought it was politically good, and it was.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:06 - 01:08:07

I got tremendous political support.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:08 - 01:08:12

But more importantly, China wanted that market, too.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:12 - 01:08:14

It's just like they want the AI.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:14 - 01:08:17

And we've got that market, I think, pretty well locked up.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:17 - 01:08:26

If I didn't do it, you know, Biden was totally against it until before the election when they realized that, you know, there were millions of people voting against him over crypto.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:26 - 01:08:29

And all of a sudden they loved it very much, but it was too late.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:30 - 01:08:30

They blew it.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:31 - 01:08:39

But it is politically popular, but it's it's much more importantly, we have to make it so that China doesn't get the hold of it.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:39 - 01:08:41

And once they have that hold, we're not going to be able to get it back.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:42 - 01:08:43

So I'm honored to have done it.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:44 - 01:08:52

Finally, I've instructed government backed institutions to purchase up to two hundred billion dollars in mortgage bonds to bring down interest rates.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:53 - 01:08:57

And I'll be announcing a new Fed chairman in the not too distant future.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:57 - 01:08:58

I think he'll do a very good job.

SPEAKER_02 01:08:59 - 01:09:00

So I gave away some of it.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:00 - 01:09:00

He.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:01 - 01:09:03

I did give that away.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:03 - 01:09:04

So we have something.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:04 - 01:09:05

Got something.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:06 - 01:09:08

But somebody that's very, very respected.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:08 - 01:09:10

They're all respected.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:10 - 01:09:11

They're all great.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:11 - 01:09:12

Everyone that I interviewed is great.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:13 - 01:09:15

Everyone could do, I think, a fantastic job.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:15 - 01:09:18

Problem is they change once they get the job.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:18 - 01:09:18

They do.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:19 - 01:09:21

You know, they're saying everything I want to hear.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:21 - 01:09:23

And then they get the job.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:23 - 01:09:24

They're locked in for six years.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:24 - 01:09:25

They get the job.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:25 - 01:09:28

And all of a sudden, let's raise rates a little bit.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:28 - 01:09:29

I call them, sir.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:29 - 01:09:30

We'd rather not talk about this.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:31 - 01:09:34

It's amazing how people change once they have the job.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:34 - 01:09:35

It's too bad.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:36 - 01:09:37

Sort of disloyalty.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:37 - 01:09:39

But they got to do what they think is right.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:39 - 01:09:44

We have a terrible chairman right now, Jerome Too Late Powell.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:44 - 01:09:45

He's always too late.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:46 - 01:09:50

And he's very late with interest rates, except before the election.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:50 - 01:09:51

He was just fine for the other side.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:53 - 01:09:56

So we're going to have somebody that's great.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:56 - 01:09:58

And we hope he does the right job.

SPEAKER_02 01:09:58 - 01:10:03

Last week, the average 30-year mortgage rate dropped below 6% for the first time in many years.

SPEAKER_02 01:10:04 - 01:10:10

Another major factor in driving up housing costs was the mass invasion of our borders.

SPEAKER_02 01:10:10 - 01:10:14

And I have to say one thing about housing, because nobody ever says this.

SPEAKER_02 01:10:15 - 01:10:24

I am very protective of people that already own a house, of which we have millions and millions and millions.

SPEAKER_02 01:10:24 - 01:10:31

And because we have had such a good run, the house values have gone up tremendously.

SPEAKER_02 01:10:32 - 01:10:34

And these people have become wealthy.

SPEAKER_02 01:10:35 - 01:10:36

They weren't wealthy.

SPEAKER_02 01:10:36 - 01:10:39

They've become wealthy because of their house.

SPEAKER_02 01:10:40 - 01:10:53

And every time you make it more and more and more affordable for somebody to buy a house cheaply, you're actually hurting the value of those houses, obviously, because the one thing works in tandem with the other.

SPEAKER_02 01:10:54 - 01:11:10

And I don't want to do anything that's going to hurt the value of people that own a house, who for the first time in their lives are walking around the streets of whatever city they're in, and very proud that their house is worth $500,000, $600,000, $700,000.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:11 - 01:11:17

Now, if I want to really crush the housing market, I could do that so fast and people could buy houses.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:18 - 01:11:22

But you would destroy a lot of people that already have houses.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:22 - 01:11:28

In some cases, they've mortgaged their house, and the mortgage would be very low.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:28 - 01:11:33

And all of a sudden, the mortgage, without any changes, becomes very high, and they end up losing the house.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:33 - 01:11:41

Because I'm not going to hurt, and I speak with Scott, who's doing a fantastic job, and Howard, who's doing a fantastic job, and all of my people.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:42 - 01:11:45

And I always say, look, you know, I can crush the hell out of the market.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:45 - 01:11:49

We can drop interest rates to a level, and that's one thing we do want to do.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:49 - 01:11:50

That's natural.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:50 - 01:11:51

That's good for everybody.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:51 - 01:11:56

You know, the dropping of the interest rates, we should be paying a much lower interest rate than we are.

SPEAKER_02 01:11:56 - 01:12:03

We should be paying the lowest interest rate of any country in the world, because without the United States, you don't have a country.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:04 - 01:12:06

I mean, I had a case with Switzerland.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:07 - 01:12:08

We happened to be in Switzerland.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:08 - 01:12:09

Maybe I'll give you a quick story.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:10 - 01:12:12

But they were paying nothing.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:12 - 01:12:15

They make beautiful watches, great watches, Rolex, all of them.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:15 - 01:12:19

They were paying nothing to the United States when they sent their product in.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:19 - 01:12:29

And we had a $41 billion deficit, $41 billion with this beautiful place, flew over it, isn't it nice?

SPEAKER_02 01:12:31 - 01:12:37

So I said, let's put a 30% tariff on them so that we get back some of it, not all of it at all.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:37 - 01:12:39

We still have a deficit, big deficit.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:39 - 01:12:41

We had $40, $41 million.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:42 - 01:12:43

That's a big deficit.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:43 - 01:12:49

And I said, let's put a tariff on different tariffs, different places.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:49 - 01:12:53

You're all party to them, in some cases, victims to them.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:53 - 01:12:54

But in the end, it's a fair thing.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:54 - 01:12:56

And most of you realize that.

SPEAKER_02 01:12:56 - 01:13:05

But we put a 30% tariff on Switzerland, and all hell broke loose.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:06 - 01:13:10

They were calling, I mean, like you wouldn't believe.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:10 - 01:13:15

And I know so many people from Switzerland, incredible place, incredible, brilliant place.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:16 - 01:13:19

But I didn't realize that they're only good because of us.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:20 - 01:13:22

And there's so many other examples.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:22 - 01:13:27

I mean, us, probably other places, but a majority of the money they make is because of us.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:27 - 01:13:29

Because we never charged them anything.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:30 - 01:13:32

So they come in, they sell their watches.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:33 - 01:13:34

No tariffs, no nothing.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:34 - 01:13:40

They walk away, they make $41 billion on just us.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:41 - 01:13:43

So I said, no, we can't do that.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:43 - 01:13:44

So I'm going to bring it up.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:44 - 01:13:47

I still would have a deficit pretty substantial.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:47 - 01:13:49

But I brought it up to 30%.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:49 - 01:13:57

And the, I guess, prime minister, I don't think president, I think prime minister called a woman.

SPEAKER_02 01:13:58 - 01:14:01

And she was very repetitive.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:02 - 01:14:05

She said, no, no, no, you cannot do that, 30%.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:05 - 01:14:06

You cannot do that.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:07 - 01:14:08

We are a small, small country.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:09 - 01:14:11

I said, yeah, but you have a big, big deficit.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:12 - 01:14:15

You may be small, but you have a bigger deficit than big countries.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:15 - 01:14:17

He said, no, no, no, please.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:17 - 01:14:17

You cannot do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:17 - 01:14:19

Kept saying the same thing over and over.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:19 - 01:14:20

We are a small country.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:21 - 01:14:23

I said, but you're a big country in terms of.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:24 - 01:14:26

And she just rubbed me the wrong way.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:26 - 01:14:27

I'll be honest with you.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:28 - 01:14:30

And I said, all right.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:30 - 01:14:31

Thank you, ma'am.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:31 - 01:14:32

Appreciate it.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:32 - 01:14:33

Do not do this.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:33 - 01:14:35

Thank you very much, ma'am.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:35 - 01:14:36

And I made it 39%.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:37 - 01:14:40

And then all hell really broke out.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:40 - 01:14:43

And I was paid visits by everybody.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:43 - 01:14:44

Rolex came to see me.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:44 - 01:14:46

They all came to see me.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:46 - 01:14:51

But I realized and I reduced it because I don't want to hurt people.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:52 - 01:14:53

I don't want to hurt them.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:53 - 01:14:58

And we brought it down to a, you know, lower level.

SPEAKER_02 01:14:58 - 01:14:59

Doesn't mean it's not going up.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:00 - 01:15:02

But we brought it down to a lower level.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:02 - 01:15:04

But they pay now, Tara.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:05 - 01:15:14

But I realized that we have many places like that where they're making a fortune because of the United States.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:14 - 01:15:19

Without the United States, they wouldn't be making anything.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:19 - 01:15:20

Think of it.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:20 - 01:15:23

Switzerland made $41 billion on us.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:24 - 01:15:26

And as she said, it's a small place.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:27 - 01:15:32

And I realized with that, I don't know, I was so, because she was so aggressive.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:34 - 01:15:41

And I realized in that conversation that the United States is keeping the whole world afloat.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:42 - 01:15:47

Many places, I could give you six, seven places just in the people in this little area.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:47 - 01:15:48

I know every one of them.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:48 - 01:15:51

They're sort of, they're looking down.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:51 - 01:15:52

They don't want to see me.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:52 - 01:15:53

They don't want to stare me in the eyes.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:54 - 01:15:58

But they're taking advantage of, everybody took advantage of the United States.

SPEAKER_02 01:15:58 - 01:16:00

But I've been very fair.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:00 - 01:16:03

And I gave them a tariff and it was fine.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:04 - 01:16:10

But I realized that without us, it's not Switzerland anymore.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:10 - 01:16:13

Without us, it's not any of the countries that are represented here.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:14 - 01:16:15

And we want to work with the countries.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:16 - 01:16:17

We want to work with them.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:17 - 01:16:18

We're not looking to destroy them.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:18 - 01:16:20

I could have said 39, 40%.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:20 - 01:16:23

I could have said I want a 70% tariff.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:23 - 01:16:24

Then we make money with Switzerland.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:24 - 01:16:29

But Switzerland would have been probably destroyed, financially destroyed.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:30 - 01:16:31

I don't want to do that.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:31 - 01:16:34

But we should be paying the lowest interest rate of everybody.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:34 - 01:16:40

I hope Scott's listening to this because we should be paying the lowest interest rate of everybody.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:40 - 01:16:45

Without us, most of the countries don't even work.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:45 - 01:16:48

And then you have the protection factor.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:48 - 01:16:57

Without our military, which is the greatest in the world by far, without our military, you have threats that you would never, you wouldn't believe.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:58 - 01:16:59

You wouldn't believe.

SPEAKER_02 01:16:59 - 01:17:02

You don't have threats because of us.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:02 - 01:17:04

And that's because of NATO.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:04 - 01:17:06

One other thing, and I have to say it so importantly.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:08 - 01:17:12

In the old days, and I used to say I'm the youngest in the room.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:12 - 01:17:15

Now I'm among the older, I hate to say it.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:15 - 01:17:19

I don't feel old, but I'm among the older.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:19 - 01:17:29

But I remember not long ago, 20, 25 years ago, when good news came out about, let's say, the United States.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:29 - 01:17:31

The United States had a great quarter.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:32 - 01:17:33

The United States had a great month.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:34 - 01:17:35

All the stocks went up.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:36 - 01:17:38

And that's the way it's supposed to be.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:39 - 01:17:46

Now when they say the United States had a record quarter, it's unbelievable how well it's doing.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:47 - 01:17:54

All the stocks crash because they say, oh, no, inflation, inflation.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:54 - 01:17:56

They're going to raise interest rates.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:56 - 01:17:56

And they do.

SPEAKER_02 01:17:56 - 01:18:01

Some of these stupid people like Powell, they raise interest rates.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:01 - 01:18:04

And what they do is they stop you from being successful.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:05 - 01:18:14

It used to be when we had a great quarter, a great month, great earnings, great anything, any good news, the stock market went up.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:14 - 01:18:15

That's the way it's going to be.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:15 - 01:18:18

We've got to do that again because that's the way it should be.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:18 - 01:18:22

Now when we have a great month, they want to kill it.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:23 - 01:18:25

Like we did over 5 percent.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:25 - 01:18:26

People were surprised.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:26 - 01:18:27

We should do 20 percent.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:27 - 01:18:29

We could do 25 percent.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:30 - 01:18:31

Well, we announced good numbers.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:31 - 01:18:35

And the reason is they're so petrified of inflation and.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:35 - 01:18:37

Growth doesn't mean inflation.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:37 - 01:18:40

We've had tremendous growth with very low inflation.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:40 - 01:18:44

In fact, growth can fight inflation, proper growth.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:45 - 01:18:50

So we want to get back to the days when we announced great numbers because we're going to be announcing phenomenal.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:51 - 01:18:53

You know, all these factories that are being built at record.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:53 - 01:18:56

Thousands of businesses are being built right now.

SPEAKER_02 01:18:57 - 01:19:00

Remember, 18 trillion dollars is invested.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:00 - 01:19:04

I think the second number is three.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:05 - 01:19:07

And that was China many years ago.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:08 - 01:19:10

Investments in the country from outside.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:11 - 01:19:12

18 trillion.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:12 - 01:19:12

Never.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:13 - 01:19:13

Nobody's ever seen.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:13 - 01:19:16

And that's money coming in and building things.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:16 - 01:19:16

Factories.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:16 - 01:19:19

Thousands of businesses are being built.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:20 - 01:19:20

Thousands.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:21 - 01:19:22

Hundreds of big factories.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:23 - 01:19:25

Car plants are moving back to the United States.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:25 - 01:19:26

They're coming in from Canada.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:26 - 01:19:28

They're coming in from Mexico, from Japan.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:28 - 01:19:32

Japan's coming in and building plants here in order to avoid tariffs.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:33 - 01:19:34

They're coming in from China.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:35 - 01:19:36

They're coming in from all over the world.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:36 - 01:19:38

We have more plants being built now.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:38 - 01:19:42

Car plants than we've ever had built even in the heyday from the 1940s and 50s.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:43 - 01:19:44

And they're bigger.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:44 - 01:19:47

They don't use renovations anymore where they take an old plant.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:47 - 01:19:48

They rip it down.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:48 - 01:19:49

They build a brand new plant.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:49 - 01:19:50

Super modern plant.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:50 - 01:19:54

But it's happening at levels that nobody's ever seen.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:54 - 01:19:59

In 2024, the U.S. built less than 2 million new homes.

SPEAKER_02 01:19:59 - 01:20:03

But Biden admitted more than 8 million new migrants.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:04 - 01:20:05

And those days are over.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:06 - 01:20:13

In 2025, for the first time in 50 years, the United States had reverse migration.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:13 - 01:20:14

Boy, that was nice.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:15 - 01:20:25

And these were criminals that were being taken out of our country because they allowed people to come into our country from jails, from gangs, drug dealers, murderers.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:26 - 01:20:28

11,888 murderers.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:28 - 01:20:30

We've gotten most of them out.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:30 - 01:20:37

And then ICE gets beat up by stupid people from leadership in Minnesota.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:38 - 01:20:42

We actually are helping Minnesota so much, but they don't appreciate it.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:42 - 01:20:43

Most places do.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:43 - 01:20:46

You know, Washington, D.C. is the safest place now in the United States.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:47 - 01:20:49

It was a very dangerous place to walk.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:49 - 01:20:53

And now you can walk with your wife, your kids, right through the middle of the city.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:53 - 01:20:56

Right now, Washington, D.C. is as safe as it gets.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:56 - 01:20:59

It was one of the most unsafe, I had to admit.

SPEAKER_02 01:20:59 - 01:21:02

We sent in the military, the National Guard.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:02 - 01:21:04

Within two months, it was great.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:04 - 01:21:10

Within three months, it's like a really great place and a safe place and a beautiful place.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:10 - 01:21:11

It's even been cleaned up.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:11 - 01:21:12

The graffiti's gone.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:13 - 01:21:14

Fences are gone.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:14 - 01:21:16

We don't have to worry about fences anymore.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:17 - 01:21:22

All of the places, the grasses are cut and replaced with new grass in many cases.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:22 - 01:21:24

It's all going to happen in the spring.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:24 - 01:21:27

But Washington, D.C. is beautiful again, and it's safe.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:27 - 01:21:29

New restaurants are opening up.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:29 - 01:21:30

They're all closing.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:30 - 01:21:32

Now you can't get into a restaurant.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:32 - 01:21:35

Restaurants in Washington, D.C. are all opening.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:35 - 01:21:41

Memphis also, Memphis, Tennessee, New Orleans, Louisiana.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:41 - 01:21:42

We're there for three weeks.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:42 - 01:21:43

It's cut.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:43 - 01:21:48

We've cut the crime down by 64 percent within another month.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:48 - 01:21:49

Well, virtually no crime there.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:49 - 01:21:51

We can do that all over.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:52 - 01:21:55

We're going to help the people in California.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:55 - 01:21:56

We want to have no crime.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:56 - 01:21:57

I know Gavin was here.

SPEAKER_02 01:21:57 - 01:22:00

I used to get along so great with Gavin when I was president.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:00 - 01:22:01

Gavin's a good guy.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:03 - 01:22:06

And we're going to if he needed it, I would do it in a heartbeat.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:06 - 01:22:07

I'd love to see.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:07 - 01:22:13

We did help them a lot in Los Angeles, a lot with the early early in my term when they had some problems.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:14 - 01:22:16

But we would love to do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:16 - 01:22:16

I will say this.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:16 - 01:22:20

If I were a Democrat governor or whatever, I would call up Trump.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:20 - 01:22:21

I'd say, come on in.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:21 - 01:22:22

Make us look good.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:23 - 01:22:25

Because we're cutting crime down to nothing.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:25 - 01:22:32

And we're taking people out, career criminals, who are only going to do bad things, and we're bringing them back to their countries.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:33 - 01:22:35

But where we've done it has been amazing.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:35 - 01:22:39

And we have a capacity to do it at much greater levels.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:40 - 01:22:44

We're cutting illegal aliens off welfare and other government benefits.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:44 - 01:22:53

And I have directed that starting immediately, there will be no more payments to sanctuary cities because they are really just sanctuaries for criminals.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:53 - 01:22:54

They're really protecting criminals.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:55 - 01:22:56

And those are the ones we have to get out of the country.

SPEAKER_02 01:22:57 - 01:23:01

Murderers, drug dealers, the mentally insane.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:01 - 01:23:04

They emptied their mental institutions into the United States.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:05 - 01:23:10

And despite that, we have the lowest crime numbers that we've ever had in the history of the country.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:10 - 01:23:11

Just came out.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:12 - 01:23:21

But equally importantly, we're cracking down on more than $19 billion in fraud that was stolen by Somalian bandits.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:21 - 01:23:25

Can you believe that Somalian, they turned out to be higher IQ than we thought?

SPEAKER_02 01:23:26 - 01:23:28

And we say, these are low IQ people.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:28 - 01:23:31

How do they go into Minnesota and steal all that money?

SPEAKER_02 01:23:31 - 01:23:34

And we have, you know, they're pirates, they're good pirates, right?

SPEAKER_02 01:23:34 - 01:23:37

But we shoot them out of the water just like we shoot the drug boats out.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:37 - 01:23:40

They're not pirating too many boats lately, do you notice?

SPEAKER_02 01:23:41 - 01:23:47

When they go out into those boats, they want to take over a billion and a half dollar tanker, load it up with oil.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:48 - 01:23:49

And they say, we're going to blow up your boat.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:49 - 01:23:50

They have powerful weapons.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:51 - 01:23:53

You hit the side of the boat, you blow the whole thing up.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:53 - 01:23:55

The insurance companies are petrified.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:55 - 01:23:57

So they say, just give them the boat.

SPEAKER_02 01:23:57 - 01:23:59

We'll give them money instead.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:00 - 01:24:01

And I don't do that.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:01 - 01:24:03

We blow them right the hell out of the water.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:03 - 01:24:04

We see them going out.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:04 - 01:24:05

We blow them out of the water.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:06 - 01:24:08

We don't have any pirates so much anymore.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:08 - 01:24:08

We do.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:09 - 01:24:10

They won't be there long.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:11 - 01:24:17

We've cut down with the hitting of the boats that are loaded up with drugs, including submarines.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:18 - 01:24:19

Can you believe they actually buy small?

SPEAKER_02 01:24:19 - 01:24:21

They call mini subs very fast.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:21 - 01:24:22

They're meant for drugs.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:23 - 01:24:25

We've knocked out two of them.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:25 - 01:24:26

The Democrats say they were fishing.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:26 - 01:24:29

You have ruined somebody's fishing weekend.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:30 - 01:24:33

I would say a submarine is not a fishing boat.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:33 - 01:24:34

You don't fish.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:34 - 01:24:43

But we've knocked down drugs by water, the oceans, the sea by 97.2%.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:43 - 01:24:44

Think of that.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:45 - 01:24:47

And I actually say, who the hell are the 3%?

SPEAKER_02 01:24:48 - 01:24:50

Because I would not want to be piloting one of those boats.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:51 - 01:24:53

We knocked them down and now we're going to start on land.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:53 - 01:24:54

We're going to knock it all out.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:55 - 01:24:56

The land is the easy part.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:56 - 01:24:58

What we did on the sea is incredible.

SPEAKER_02 01:24:58 - 01:25:00

And that's our great military.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:00 - 01:25:11

The situation in Minnesota reminds us that the West cannot mass import foreign cultures, which have failed to ever build a successful society of their own.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:11 - 01:25:17

I mean, we're taking people from Somalia and Somalia is a failed.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:17 - 01:25:18

It's not a nation.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:19 - 01:25:20

Got no government.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:20 - 01:25:21

Got no police.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:21 - 01:25:21

Got no military.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:21 - 01:25:22

Got no nothing.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:23 - 01:25:30

And then we have this fake congressperson who they just reported is worth $30 million.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:30 - 01:25:31

Do you believe this?

SPEAKER_02 01:25:31 - 01:25:35

Ilan Omar talking about the Constitution provides me.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:35 - 01:25:38

She comes from a country that's not a country.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:38 - 01:25:40

And she's telling us how to run America.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:41 - 01:25:43

I'm not going to get away with it much longer, let me tell you.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:44 - 01:25:54

The explosion of prosperity and conclusion and progress that built the West did not come from our tax codes.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:54 - 01:25:57

It ultimately came from our very special culture.

SPEAKER_02 01:25:57 - 01:26:02

This is the precious inheritance that America and Europe have in common.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:02 - 01:26:03

We share it.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:03 - 01:26:04

We share it.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:04 - 01:26:06

But we have to keep it strong.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:07 - 01:26:11

We have to become stronger, more successful and more prosperous than ever.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:11 - 01:26:21

We have to defend that culture and rediscover the spirit that lifted the West from the depths of the Dark Ages to the pinnacle of human achievement.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:22 - 01:26:26

We live in an incredible, changing period.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:27 - 01:26:29

It's an unbelievable time.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:29 - 01:26:32

But we have to take advantage of the time that we're in.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:33 - 01:26:38

In our hands are technologies that our ancestors could scarily have.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:38 - 01:26:42

I mean, they couldn't have even dreamt some of the things that we see today.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:43 - 01:26:45

And so rapidly they're produced.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:45 - 01:26:48

I mean, AI, two years ago, nobody ever heard of the term.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:48 - 01:26:50

And now everybody's talking about it.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:50 - 01:26:52

And it can have some very good purpose.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:52 - 01:26:54

It could also have some dangerous purpose.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:54 - 01:26:56

And for that, we have to watch out.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:56 - 01:26:59

But some tremendous things are happening because of it.

SPEAKER_02 01:26:59 - 01:27:01

And we're leading by so much.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:01 - 01:27:02

We're doing so well.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:02 - 01:27:08

But opportunities that are bigger and grander than ever before in human history are right before us.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:09 - 01:27:12

It is the pioneers in this room.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:12 - 01:27:14

Many of you in this room are true pioneers.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:14 - 01:27:18

You're two truly brilliant, brilliant people.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:19 - 01:27:25

Just your ability to get a ticket is brilliant because you have about 50 people for every seat.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:25 - 01:27:26

I don't know what.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:26 - 01:27:27

That's Larry.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:28 - 01:27:30

Everything Larry touches turns to gold.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:30 - 01:27:32

He made this very successful.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:32 - 01:27:34

But you're in this room.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:34 - 01:27:37

And some of you are the greatest leaders anywhere in the world.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:37 - 01:27:39

You're the greatest brains anywhere in the world.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:41 - 01:27:45

And the future is unlimited and to a large part because of you.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:45 - 01:27:46

And we have to protect you.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:46 - 01:27:48

And we have to cherish you.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:48 - 01:27:53

I always say we have to cherish our brilliant people because there aren't many of them.

SPEAKER_02 01:27:55 - 01:28:12

So together with confidence, boldness, and persistence, let us lift up our people, grow our economies, defend our shared destiny, and build a future for our citizens that is more ambitious, more exciting, more inspiring, and greater than the world has ever seen.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:12 - 01:28:17

And we're in a position to do things that nobody else has ever thought of before.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:18 - 01:28:21

And many of the people in this room are the ones that are doing it.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:21 - 01:28:22

And I want to congratulate you.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:22 - 01:28:23

And I'm with you all the way.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:24 - 01:28:26

You can do things that nobody else can even think about.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:26 - 01:28:30

So I congratulate you on your tremendous success.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:31 - 01:28:34

And the United States is back.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:35 - 01:28:37

Bigger, stronger, better than ever before.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:39 - 01:28:40

And I'll see you around.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:40 - 01:28:41

Thank you all very much.

SPEAKER_02 01:28:42 - 01:28:42

Thank you very much.

SPEAKER_00 01:28:52 - 01:29:12

This was supposed to be a nice fire chat, Mr. President.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:12 - 01:29:13

Yes, good.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:14 - 01:29:15

I got set up.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:16 - 01:29:17

I did, though.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:17 - 01:29:20

You made the job for the moderator really easy.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:21 - 01:29:24

Thank you, Mr. President, for your speech.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:24 - 01:29:27

I do have a few follow-up questions, if it's okay.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:28 - 01:29:30

I don't think I should start with Greenland, maybe.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:30 - 01:29:31

I'll start with the economy.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:32 - 01:29:35

The U.S. economy is doing really, really well.

SPEAKER_00 01:29:36 - 01:29:39

But how to sustain this growth moving forward?

SPEAKER_00 01:29:39 - 01:29:42

Because there's always a recession looming around the corner.

SPEAKER_02 01:29:43 - 01:29:51

Well, you know, the one thing about economies and recessions is sometimes you get hit unexpectedly and there's nothing you can do about it.

SPEAKER_02 01:29:51 - 01:29:52

They're all brilliant people, but there's nothing.

SPEAKER_02 01:29:52 - 01:29:54

One example was COVID.

SPEAKER_02 01:29:54 - 01:30:00

We had an economy going at levels like nobody had ever seen my first two and a half, three years.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:01 - 01:30:06

And then I heard the word pandemic, not COVID.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:06 - 01:30:09

They came up with that name over a period of time.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:09 - 01:30:10

We won't get into that.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:11 - 01:30:12

But I heard the word pandemic.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:13 - 01:30:17

And I had a poll come out that was so strong just prior to that.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:18 - 01:30:22

And I was with the two best pollsters, McLaughlin and Fabrizio.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:23 - 01:30:31

And they said, sir, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, if they came back and ran as president and vice president, they couldn't beat you.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:31 - 01:30:41

And then what happened is the following day, I was told to stay tuned because there's something really bad happening in China.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:41 - 01:30:49

There are bodies laying all over Wuhan, right around that certain building that we talk about.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:50 - 01:30:51

I always said it came from Wuhan.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:51 - 01:30:52

It did come from Wuhan.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:53 - 01:30:54

And there were body bags.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:54 - 01:30:55

We saw it by satellite.

SPEAKER_02 01:30:56 - 01:30:58

And they said, there are strange things happening in China.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:00 - 01:31:01

And so it began.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:01 - 01:31:04

And we ended up with the COVID and the whole world suffered.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:05 - 01:31:06

We did a phenomenal job.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:06 - 01:31:07

I don't think we got the credit we deserve.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:08 - 01:31:15

We did something that Operation Warp Speed, which some people say was one of the greatest military feats ever.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:15 - 01:31:16

We did a great job.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:17 - 01:31:19

Use our military, use a lot of people.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:19 - 01:31:23

But sometimes you get hit with things, nothing you can do.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:23 - 01:31:26

You get hit with things like that unexpectedly.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:26 - 01:31:28

And we got through it.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:28 - 01:31:36

And when I left, the stock market was higher than it was previous to the COVID coming up.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:36 - 01:31:39

And I called it a great achievement.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:39 - 01:31:40

But things happen.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:41 - 01:31:42

Bad things happen.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:42 - 01:31:45

The things that we can stop are wars if we're smart.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:46 - 01:31:47

That we can stop.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:47 - 01:31:52

Those are a matter of being intelligent and having intelligent people on the other side.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:52 - 01:31:54

Because wars are the worst of all.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:54 - 01:31:55

Wars are worse than anything.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:55 - 01:31:58

But we can stop wars because that's sort of up to us.

SPEAKER_02 01:31:59 - 01:32:08

But things like dust flying in the air, wherever COVID comes from or whatever comes, sometimes you have to be a little bit lucky.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:08 - 01:32:16

But we are poised to have an economy like no other, not only in this country, but anywhere.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:17 - 01:32:23

And, you know, when you hear the kind of numbers that I can tell you that Scott Bessent was with me the other day.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:23 - 01:32:24

And he's looking at numbers.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:24 - 01:32:24

He said, I can't.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:25 - 01:32:26

And that's all he's done his whole life.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:26 - 01:32:27

Pretty much your whole life.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:27 - 01:32:29

Scott, you weren't going to be a football player, I don't think.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:30 - 01:32:32

Scott was not that great at football.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:32 - 01:32:34

But he was always good at numbers, right?

SPEAKER_02 01:32:35 - 01:32:37

And he was looking at numbers.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:37 - 01:32:39

He said, I've never seen anything like this.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:39 - 01:32:43

We're poised to do things that no other country has ever done.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:44 - 01:32:46

And, you know, luck.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:47 - 01:32:49

I hate to say it, but we need a little luck.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:49 - 01:32:53

We don't want to get hit by something that nobody could have thought.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:53 - 01:32:56

Whoever thought we were going to hit by a pandemic.

SPEAKER_02 01:32:56 - 01:32:59

You know, when I heard the word pandemic, I said, oh, that's an ancient problem.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:00 - 01:33:02

World War I, there was 100 million people.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:02 - 01:33:04

It actually ended World War I.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:04 - 01:33:05

A lot of people don't know.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:05 - 01:33:11

The Spanish flu in World War I ended because all the soldiers were sick.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:11 - 01:33:13

The soldiers were so sick on both sides.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:13 - 01:33:15

And that war was raging.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:15 - 01:33:18

And they were all dying from the Spanish flu.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:18 - 01:33:19

They were sick as dogs.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:19 - 01:33:20

They couldn't fight.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:21 - 01:33:23

So, you know, you don't know how that would have turned out.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:23 - 01:33:33

But so we do, I mean, subject to that, and I always have to put a caveat in for it, but we're poised to have the greatest growth of any large country.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:33 - 01:33:38

I think any country that there's been, when you look at what's happening in the United States, it's really amazing.

SPEAKER_00 01:33:39 - 01:33:40

Thank you.

SPEAKER_00 01:33:40 - 01:33:48

One thing that maybe keeps you up at night, I know you don't sleep that much anyway, Mr. President, is the debt.

SPEAKER_00 01:33:48 - 01:33:50

The U.S. debt is high.

SPEAKER_00 01:33:50 - 01:33:53

It's not the biggest expenditure on your budget.

SPEAKER_00 01:33:54 - 01:33:56

How to get out of that impulse?

SPEAKER_02 01:33:56 - 01:33:58

Well, the big thing is growth.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:58 - 01:33:59

I mean, growth is the way.

SPEAKER_02 01:33:59 - 01:34:04

If we grow like this, we go from having a $37, $36, $37 trillion.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:04 - 01:34:07

We go from having high debt to low debt.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:07 - 01:34:11

But we also are cutting expenses, you know, the old-fashioned way.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:11 - 01:34:13

We have extraordinary growth.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:13 - 01:34:15

I think we're going to be growing our way out.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:15 - 01:34:17

I think we're going to be paying off debt.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:17 - 01:34:20

We're taking in tremendous money from tariffs fairly.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:21 - 01:34:23

And again, I'm using them judiciously.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:23 - 01:34:25

You know, Switzerland's a case study.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:25 - 01:34:27

I could have gotten much more.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:27 - 01:34:28

I could have asked for much more.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:29 - 01:34:31

But we're using them judiciously.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:31 - 01:34:34

But I think growth, most importantly.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:35 - 01:34:36

And then cutting costs.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:36 - 01:34:46

Now, if you take a look at Minnesota, $19 billion in fraud and other things.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:48 - 01:34:54

People going to airports, they came into the country, they don't have 10 cents, and they're leaving with hundreds of thousands of cash in their bags.

SPEAKER_02 01:34:56 - 01:35:08

When we get to that and our DOJ, Pam, and Todd, and all the people that work over there and all of the people that work in here, I can tell you, Scott Bessent is working on that.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:09 - 01:35:09

It's a priority, right?

SPEAKER_02 01:35:09 - 01:35:10

You have your whole team.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:11 - 01:35:16

We're in there looking for where this money is coming from, how much it is.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:16 - 01:35:18

It could be more than $19 billion.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:18 - 01:35:19

Can you believe that?

SPEAKER_02 01:35:19 - 01:35:20

That's just one state.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:21 - 01:35:34

If we were able to cut out 50% of the fraud, 50%, and we should be able to do better than that, we would have a balanced budget without having to talk about even growth.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:35 - 01:35:38

So we have a lot of options, but we're working very hard on that.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:38 - 01:35:38

That's a big deal.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:39 - 01:35:46

It's not just the protests, the fake protests done by agitators and, you know, professional insurrectionists.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:46 - 01:35:46

That's what they are.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:46 - 01:35:48

They're professional troublemakers.

SPEAKER_02 01:35:48 - 01:35:53

But we are looking very strong at the money, too, in Minnesota and other places.

SPEAKER_00 01:35:53 - 01:36:07

I think, Mr. President, also the $500 billion U.S. invested in artificial intelligence and the frontier technologies last year also were driving growth exponentially in the U.S.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:07 - 01:36:08

Well, AI has been a big factor.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:08 - 01:36:10

Their AI is massive.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:11 - 01:36:20

I mean, Mark Zuckerberg showed me a plant where he put it over a map of Manhattan, and it was basically the size of Manhattan.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:20 - 01:36:22

This is not – I said, you've got to be kidding.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:22 - 01:36:27

It's a plant that was miles long, miles wide, very high.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:28 - 01:36:30

I don't think it was high like the Empire State Building, but it was high.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:31 - 01:36:36

And it literally covered most of the island of Manhattan.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:36 - 01:36:38

That's called a big plant.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:38 - 01:36:46

And, you know, when I heard they're going to spend $50 billion building it, I said, what – you know, if you spend $50 million, you can build a nice little shopping center.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:46 - 01:36:50

If you spend $500 billion, you can build a good shopping center.

SPEAKER_02 01:36:51 - 01:36:53

But how do you spend $50 billion?

SPEAKER_02 01:36:53 - 01:36:57

When I looked at this thing, I said, you think you'll be able to do it for that?

SPEAKER_02 01:36:58 - 01:37:02

It's amazing when, you know, some of the plants that I see – and I see them all.

SPEAKER_02 01:37:03 - 01:37:08

And, again, so big as we're letting them build their own electric generation.

SPEAKER_02 01:37:08 - 01:37:10

This way we have no problem.

SPEAKER_02 01:37:10 - 01:37:12

And otherwise they'd be complaining.

SPEAKER_02 01:37:12 - 01:37:16

There'd be nobody able to – you know, we have an old grid system.

SPEAKER_02 01:37:16 - 01:37:23

And not only that, they're going to sell at a very cheap price the excess electricity that they create back into our grid.

SPEAKER_02 01:37:24 - 01:37:29

So that'll solve some problems for certain states that don't have enough electricity.

SPEAKER_00 01:37:30 - 01:37:35

We also know that on the AI there is fierce competition between the U.S.

SPEAKER_00 01:37:35 - 01:37:45

as the largest economy in the world, 27% of the global GDP and 5% of the global population, not doing that badly, and China.

SPEAKER_00 01:37:45 - 01:37:50

And we know that that competition is very tough on AI.

SPEAKER_00 01:37:51 - 01:37:54

I know you're heading to a state visit to China in April.

SPEAKER_00 01:37:55 - 01:38:00

How do you see the U.S.-China relationship moving forward?

SPEAKER_00 01:38:00 - 01:38:05

Are you able to combine this tough competition with also collaboration?

SPEAKER_02 01:38:06 - 01:38:11

So I've always had a very good relationship with President Xi and with President Putin.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:12 - 01:38:14

Talk about, you know, the larger powers.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:14 - 01:38:19

But I've always had a very good relationship with President Xi of China.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:19 - 01:38:21

He's an incredible man.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:21 - 01:38:23

And what he's done is amazing.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:23 - 01:38:25

He's highly respected by everybody.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:26 - 01:38:27

And I do now.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:27 - 01:38:28

I mean, now I have good.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:28 - 01:38:31

It was very severely interrupted by COVID.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:31 - 01:38:33

I used to call it the China virus.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:33 - 01:38:36

But he said, do you think you could use a different name?

SPEAKER_02 01:38:37 - 01:38:43

And I decided to do that because why should we have a problem over that?

SPEAKER_02 01:38:44 - 01:38:45

But I would do that.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:45 - 01:38:47

And they were a true diplomat.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:47 - 01:38:49

I became a diplomat for the first time.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:50 - 01:38:51

Well, you know who taught me that?

SPEAKER_02 01:38:51 - 01:38:51

Marco Rubio.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:51 - 01:38:52

Marco Rubio.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:53 - 01:38:55

He said, let me teach you about diplomacy.

SPEAKER_02 01:38:55 - 01:39:00

Hey, any guy that gets approved by 100% of the votes, think of it.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:00 - 01:39:05

He got liberal Democrats and radical right Republicans to approve him.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:06 - 01:39:06

He's the only one.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:07 - 01:39:10

The next one was like lost 45 votes.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:10 - 01:39:10

Right.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:10 - 01:39:14

But he got all 100 votes voting for him.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:14 - 01:39:16

And at first I wasn't happy about it.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:16 - 01:39:17

I said, wait a minute.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:17 - 01:39:18

I don't like that.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:18 - 01:39:22

And now it turns out that the Democrats probably wish they didn't do that.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:22 - 01:39:24

And Marco has been fantastic.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:24 - 01:39:25

Marco, stand up, please.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:25 - 01:39:27

You have done a great job as secretary of state.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:27 - 01:39:30

But he's going to go down as the best secretary of state.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:31 - 01:39:31

And Scott.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:32 - 01:39:36

And we have Susie, who's the first female chief of staff.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:37 - 01:39:39

And she's the best chief of staff, too.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:40 - 01:39:43

And I see Howard Lutnick, who I know spoke.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:43 - 01:39:45

And Howard's fantastic.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:45 - 01:39:47

Some of the deals we're doing are great.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:47 - 01:39:52

And I want to pay particular attention because we have Chris.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:52 - 01:39:54

And Chris, you got up and spoke, I think.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:54 - 01:39:57

He's a number one oil man in the world.

SPEAKER_02 01:39:57 - 01:40:01

Because I was going to put Doug Burgum, who's fantastic.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:01 - 01:40:02

I don't know if Doug's here.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:02 - 01:40:02

Is Doug here?

SPEAKER_02 01:40:03 - 01:40:04

Doug Burgum is fantastic.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:04 - 01:40:06

He said, sir, there's one man better than me.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:07 - 01:40:09

And he introduced me to Chris.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:09 - 01:40:10

And he turns out to be.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:11 - 01:40:15

So we're drilling more oil and gas now than we ever have by almost double.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:15 - 01:40:16

Is that right, Chris?

SPEAKER_02 01:40:17 - 01:40:20

And on top of it, we've got a lot coming out of Venezuela.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:21 - 01:40:23

So anyway, so we're doing great.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:23 - 01:40:24

The country is just doing great.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:24 - 01:40:25

We have great people.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:25 - 01:40:25

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:25 - 01:40:26

And I see other people.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:27 - 01:40:28

We have Steve Whitcuff.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:28 - 01:40:28

We have Jared.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:29 - 01:40:30

I got so many people.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:30 - 01:40:34

I'm in trouble because when I go back, they're going to be people with long faces.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:35 - 01:40:36

Sir, you didn't introduce me.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:36 - 01:40:37

I got so many people.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:37 - 01:40:40

And we have a lot of the greatest people anywhere in the world.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:40 - 01:40:41

I know them all.

SPEAKER_02 01:40:41 - 01:40:45

So I won't continue because we'd be here all day.

SPEAKER_00 01:40:45 - 01:40:47

Thank you, Mr. President.

SPEAKER_00 01:40:47 - 01:40:55

We also know that you're a dealmaker and then maybe coming back to Greenland and Ukraine.

SPEAKER_00 01:40:56 - 01:41:03

What kind of deal, in the end, do you see between the U.S. and Denmark?

SPEAKER_00 01:41:05 - 01:41:09

Because, you know, I guess you see it now as a negotiation going on or?

SPEAKER_02 01:41:09 - 01:41:13

Well, it's costing Denmark hundreds of millions a year to run it.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:13 - 01:41:16

And Denmark's a small country and wonderful people.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:17 - 01:41:19

But, you know, it's very expensive.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:19 - 01:41:22

It's a very big piece of ice.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:22 - 01:41:26

And it's very important.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:26 - 01:41:33

I mean, I don't want to repeat the speech, but it's very important that we use that for national and international security.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:33 - 01:41:44

That can create a power that will make it impossible for the bad guys to do anything against the perceived good ones.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:44 - 01:41:50

And it's a great block for Europe, just like, you know, Denmark was supposed to spend hundreds of millions of dollars.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:50 - 01:41:51

They didn't spend the money.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:51 - 01:41:53

They didn't spend anything, almost.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:54 - 01:41:55

And we'll see what happens.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:55 - 01:41:56

I just say this.

SPEAKER_02 01:41:57 - 01:42:00

NATO has treated the United States of America very unfairly.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:00 - 01:42:01

We never asked for anything.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:02 - 01:42:03

We never got anything.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:03 - 01:42:08

We actually took care of the needs of NATO for years and years, which I felt was always unfair.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:08 - 01:42:10

So I got NATO to pay because they're rich countries.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:11 - 01:42:14

But I think it's time that NATO step up.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:14 - 01:42:16

We're helping them with Ukraine.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:16 - 01:42:19

Without us, I think Putin would have gone all the way.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:19 - 01:42:19

I think we have it.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:19 - 01:42:23

I think Putin, I think there could have been a World War III, if you want to know the truth.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:24 - 01:42:31

If Kamala was elected or Joe, any one of those, you know, those thinkers, I think you could have ended up in World War III.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:31 - 01:42:38

And I will say Steve Whitcoff has been dealing incredibly with, but we're not going to have World War III.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:38 - 01:42:41

We want to get it stopped, but we're not going to have World War III.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:41 - 01:42:45

I think if I wasn't elected, I think that could have evolved into World War III.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:45 - 01:42:47

It was a very, very bad situation.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:48 - 01:42:50

And it still is, but it's not that kind of bad.

SPEAKER_02 01:42:50 - 01:42:53

It's bad because so many young people are being killed.

SPEAKER_00 01:42:53 - 01:42:57

How close do you think there is on an agreement on Ukraine?

SPEAKER_00 01:42:58 - 01:43:02

I had the pleasure of speaking with Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner yesterday.

SPEAKER_00 01:43:02 - 01:43:03

I know they're working hard on it.

SPEAKER_00 01:43:04 - 01:43:06

I know that they're also traveling now.

SPEAKER_00 01:43:06 - 01:43:09

Do you see this very close or still?

SPEAKER_02 01:43:09 - 01:43:11

Well, I hate to say it.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:11 - 01:43:14

I thought that was going to be so I settled eight wars plus.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:14 - 01:43:17

And I thought that was going to be one of my easier ones.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:17 - 01:43:18

Not the easiest.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:18 - 01:43:21

Some I settled in a matter of hours because I'm good at that stuff.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:21 - 01:43:24

You know, the United Nations should be doing this.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:24 - 01:43:26

I shouldn't be doing it, but it doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:26 - 01:43:28

It's got to get done saving a lot of lives.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:28 - 01:43:29

We're saving millions of lives.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:30 - 01:43:38

With Ukraine, Russia, there's tremendous hatred between President Zelensky and President Putin.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:38 - 01:43:39

That's not good.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:39 - 01:43:40

That's not good for settlements.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:40 - 01:43:44

We know from dealing this abnormal hatred.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:44 - 01:43:47

With that being said, I think Russia wants to make a deal.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:47 - 01:43:49

I think Ukraine wants to make a deal.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:50 - 01:43:52

And we're going to try getting a deal done.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:53 - 01:43:56

We're getting, I think, Steve, I think I can say that we're reasonably close.

SPEAKER_02 01:43:57 - 01:44:00

What happens is oftentimes we'll have a deal with Russia.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:00 - 01:44:03

Russia's set and President Zelensky will not do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:03 - 01:44:05

You saw that when he was in the Oval Office.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:05 - 01:44:06

I was not happy.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:06 - 01:44:09

And then we'll have President Zelensky wants to make a deal.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:09 - 01:44:11

And Putin doesn't want to make the deal.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:11 - 01:44:15

It's a very difficult balance.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:15 - 01:44:17

And it's big time.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:17 - 01:44:22

And it's just, it is, you know, to use a word, it's a bloodbath.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:22 - 01:44:23

It's horrible what's happening.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:23 - 01:44:25

It's a drone war.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:25 - 01:44:28

The drones are killing, you know, thousands of people a week.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:29 - 01:44:29

Thousands.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:29 - 01:44:30

We have to get it stopped.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:31 - 01:44:33

So I believe they're at a point now.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:33 - 01:44:35

I'm going to meet with President Zelensky later today.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:36 - 01:44:41

I believe they're at a point now where they can come together and get a deal done.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:42 - 01:44:44

And if they don't, they're stupid.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:45 - 01:44:46

That goes for both of them.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:47 - 01:44:48

And I know they're not stupid.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:49 - 01:44:51

But if they don't get this done, they are stupid.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:52 - 01:44:57

So I don't want to insult anyone, but you've got to get this deal done.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:57 - 01:44:58

Too many people are dying.

SPEAKER_02 01:44:58 - 01:44:59

It's not worth it.

SPEAKER_00 01:44:59 - 01:45:03

So President Sisi, he is sitting on the first row here.

SPEAKER_00 01:45:03 - 01:45:08

He spoke earlier today and also complimented you on the Gaza deal.

SPEAKER_00 01:45:09 - 01:45:10

I think there will be a signing tomorrow.

SPEAKER_00 01:45:11 - 01:45:13

Of course, there are different views on this.

SPEAKER_00 01:45:13 - 01:45:18

But how important do you think this signing is on the Board of Peace?

SPEAKER_00 01:45:18 - 01:45:21

And do you think this is going to sustain?

SPEAKER_00 01:45:21 - 01:45:29

Do you think we now will see Gaza reconstructed and the billions of U.S. dollars invested?

SPEAKER_02 01:45:29 - 01:45:30

I do.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:30 - 01:45:32

I mean, I think we have peace in the Middle East.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:32 - 01:45:36

There are some little situations like Hamas.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:37 - 01:45:39

And Hamas has agreed to give up their weapons.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:39 - 01:45:42

Now, you know, they were born with a weapon in their hands, so it's not easy to do.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:42 - 01:45:44

When they were born, they were born with a rifle in their hand.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:45 - 01:45:47

It's not an easy thing for them.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:47 - 01:45:49

But that's what they agreed to.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:49 - 01:45:49

They've got to do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:49 - 01:45:57

And we're going to know, Jared, over the next two or three days, certainly over the next three weeks, whether or not they're going to do it.

SPEAKER_02 01:45:57 - 01:46:00

If they don't do it, they're going to have to be blown away very quickly.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:00 - 01:46:01

They'll be blown away.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:01 - 01:46:06

You know, we have 59 countries that are part of that whole peace deal.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:06 - 01:46:11

And some of those countries aren't even in there near the Middle East, but they're not in the Middle East traditionally.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:12 - 01:46:15

And they want to come in and take out Hamas.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:15 - 01:46:16

They want to come in.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:16 - 01:46:17

They want to do whatever they can.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:17 - 01:46:20

And there's a problem with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:21 - 01:46:23

And we'll see what happens there.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:23 - 01:46:24

But that's a problem.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:24 - 01:46:25

But there are these little flames.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:25 - 01:46:27

But there's peace in the Middle East.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:27 - 01:46:35

Now, had we not gone in and knocked out with those big, beautiful, we just ordered 25 brand new ones, the latest and the greatest, the B-2 bomber.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:36 - 01:46:36

Think of them.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:36 - 01:46:41

They went in there at 2 o'clock in the morning with no moon, no light, no nothing.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:41 - 01:46:48

And every single one of those massive bombs hit its target, 100,000-pound bombs hit its target, every one of them.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:48 - 01:46:56

And then on top of it, from a submarine 300 miles away, we hit the sights with tomahawks, which is an unbelievable weapon.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:56 - 01:46:58

So, you know, we did our job.

SPEAKER_02 01:46:58 - 01:47:00

If we didn't do that, you would have never had peace in the Middle East.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:01 - 01:47:11

And the countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar could never have, and others, could never have signed anything because you would have had this dark cloud.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:11 - 01:47:13

And the dark cloud was Iran with nuclear.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:13 - 01:47:17

Iran would, if we didn't take them out, they would have had a nuclear weapon within two months.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:18 - 01:47:20

They were very close to having the nuclear weapon.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:20 - 01:47:20

And we hit them hard.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:21 - 01:47:23

And it was a total obliteration.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:25 - 01:47:30

They may try again, but they're going to have to try from a different area because that area was obliterated.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:31 - 01:47:32

Incredible thing we did.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:33 - 01:47:35

And because we did that, we were able to make peace.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:36 - 01:47:46

If we didn't do that, I would say, Jared and Steve, if we didn't do that, there was no chance of making peace because the countries I just named and other countries could have never signed off.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:46 - 01:47:47

They were afraid.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:47 - 01:47:48

They were afraid.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:50 - 01:47:51

And we had a bully.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:52 - 01:47:54

The bully was Iran, the bully of the Middle East.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:54 - 01:47:55

They used to call it for years.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:56 - 01:47:57

They were the bully of the Middle East.

SPEAKER_02 01:47:57 - 01:47:59

They're not the bully of the Middle East anymore.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:01 - 01:48:06

Mr. President, I know you even had to change plane last night.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:06 - 01:48:09

So I guess you didn't have much sleep.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:09 - 01:48:11

But I think you're on that.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:11 - 01:48:13

But your energy is still there.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:13 - 01:48:15

I know you have several bilateral meetings.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:15 - 01:48:18

I know you're also hosting a reception.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:18 - 01:48:24

So thank you so much for coming back to Davos.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:24 - 01:48:25

Thank you so much.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:26 - 01:48:27

It's highly appreciated.

SPEAKER_00 01:48:27 - 01:48:28

Thank you very much.

SPEAKER_02 01:48:28 - 01:48:30

Thank you, everybody, very much.

SPEAKER_02 01:48:30 - 01:48:30

Thank you.

UNKNOWN 01:48:32 - 01:48:33

Thank you.
